ok im confused.. did colonel sanders invent fried chicken or did he just have his own recipe..?

why was he called the colonel ??? Because hes a Kentucky colonel. I visited the first KFC built (its in southern KY) and its a KFC/museum. It has the old deep friers, old buckets and a life size statue in there too. I thought it was neat actually
