Yes, even being a male. Sometimes I find it hard to be a man, I always feel like I might be failing at it. Then again I might just be to critical of myself.

I reckon that to be a real man it takes a couple things.

Chivalry
Discretion
and 'A Pair', as it were.

One must be kind and gentle, yet strong
They must know their options in a situation, and which will be appropriate.
They must also know when to stand up for what is right, whether it is the most desired, or conflict-free path.

That's my take on it, feel free to add in.

laugh my ex hubby isent a man, i can say alot of things about him,, but hes worthless of being a father though, when my son was in the hospitol, i contacted his dad so many times i actually harassed him, he claimed he didnt have a car, and i talked to his wife later as to find out she had a suv, well geeze he had transportation, so after all my harassing he came down to see his son with his wife and daughter, and i swar his daughter has more freaken brains..

My "dad" showed me the difference between the two..a MAN does not walk out on a disabled 6yr old and disabled 3yr old because HE can't handle their disabilities!..a MALE can make as many children as he pleases only because God gave him the equipment to do so!

That sounds about right to me. A real man has integrity and empathy.

Nor does being a woman make you a Lady...

Or father make you a Daddy...

So whats your point...what makes a man?

i do agree...gender doesn't make you something. it's how they treat people...learn from mistakes....not blame others for their faults...and being hinest with yourself and others.

but my opinion on what makes a man or woman may not be the same as others flowerforyou

but good thread for discussion

My point is..There are guys that feel "hey I have a penis that works and I have kids..I don't have anything to do with them cuz I'm too busy doing my own thing with whatever female lets me do it but I'm a man!"..That does NOT make you a man..living up to your responsibilities does!..and you are right..there is a difference between female and woman too..I've seen a lot of that too..there are females that make babies and then dump them off on everybody else to raise..I guess my point is..if EVERYBODY..both genders did better by each other there wouldn't be so many single people or single parents in the world!..I have no idea why I started this thread but I'm done ranting now.laugh
