Sayin you came to visit the dog
Told me how she broke your heart
Now you're lookin for a brand new start
I offer words of comfort
Tell you that when its right
You'll know it
Then I joke about who the hell am I to give advice
You laugh
Give me a hug
Tell m I am wiser then I know
Then you ask me
What happened??
Where did we go wrong??
I say I don't know
We were kids then
Too scared to act on feelings
Saying we were just friends
We were inseperable
Through good times and bad
Yet we couldn't see
What was right in front of us
When I walked away
Got my self married
Had a kid
You told me he wasn't right
I didn't listen
That was nothing new
You walked away
Went on with your life
Always looking for that perfect wife
So many years later
And here we are
Back at the beginning
Still friends
You ask me now if we can try
I tell you of my Wizard
And start to cry
I look at you and ask you why
Why didn't you ask when we were kids
Why didn't you say how you felt
You have no answer now
As you had none then
You tell me if he's not the one
I don't have to look so far
That you'll be waiting...
