I was told the other day that I'm prettier in real life than in my photos.

There is nothing to rate,.... at all....except the naked sepia-toned photo.

But, to me.... I'd prefer that the woman was considered fantastic just as she was. Not some manipulated idea of someone else's fantastic. Thankfully, there ARE people who like a person with fatty deposits, or I'd never get any!!
Really, I wonder why more people don't consider this type of manipulation as repugnant deformity. It's that unnatural and seems pretty unhealthy to me. |

Although there are some truly lovely looking men and women in real life, it is fleeting. It's such a shame that a person can't be considered "good enough" as they actually are, isn't it? And it's no wonder, with the "magic" of photoshop, that so many people get frustrated in their endeavors to be thin or shaplier by some odd standard. They cannot compete with photoshopped people. They simply aren't real, from eyelashes to hair to bodies and clothes. As lovely as some stars are, their cover photos are so touched up. Who told them they have to look like some odd ideal in the first place?
But, I'm sure this type of altering has been done over the centuries in painting and portraits all along. I remember in prep school, this one gal had so many bad acne scars. And for extra money, the photo company would erase the scars. And she went for it. But here is she still, at age 49, walking around with the scars. So, she got her magic moment, but still wears the "shame" of her scars to this day. It's like she has never seen her looks as good as is/was. I hope by now she's accepted herself. |
