younger generation has it too easy today? If so, what do you think is to blame?

Actually, I don't think the generation of today has it easy - I think they have the most difficult job ahead of them as of any generation. Why, you might ask?

It has nothing to do with technology, gadgets, money, perks, etc. - all of those superficial things just move them through life a lot faster than previous generations, not easier. The reason this generation has it more difficult than previous generations is that they're trying to negotiate through life without any of the guidelines, morals, values and mentorship of quality people in their lives. I would say this severely handicaps them for what lies ahead in their reality.

IMHO

no, but i think i'd like at least a general idea of why their major relationships had failed.

i don't want to be just another number on the list.

Agreed. No, I don't want every sordid - DRAMA - detail.. but getting some insight into why (or at least why they think it failed) their major relationships failed gives me an idea about their current position. If you've not taken the time to look back and reflect upon the mistakes made in the past, then how are you going to grow and change for the future relationships you might have?

Great point papersmile!

Hey guys my name is Brandon. I just recently moved to the Charlotte, NC area and have only been here for a short period of time. In this short time frame I have had three separate women tell me that they love me. Is that possible? Now some I have gone out on dates with the other I thought I was only friends with. I have only been in this area for two weeks. Has the words I LOVE YOU become so superficial that the there is no meaning to this anymore. Is it used so profusely that its almost like a daily part of life but no meaning? I was curious what people thought.

The words "I love you" are not superficial at all, as the phrase still has meaning to those who use it correctly - unfortunately, the intended meaning has become innocuous through the overuse of the phrase. Much as people have become desensitized to the proliferation of violence in the media, the meaning of "love" has been lost due to its commercialism value.

IMHO

down the ash-colored highway in the moonlight, as the trees whip by, brushing tracers across her surface, the sky envelopes with warm blue, fading to black, as the mesas cast long inviting shadows over hidden treasures yet to be discovered, the warm air playfully contours, and raises the spirits, and lifts the heart to giddy heights, for this ride touches the soul, as often it does, for it is in the heart that makes us the rider.....

The power of the FEELING the ride evokes is why I ride... it is the journey, the experience... not the direction/destination one takes that matters. Thank you for sharing darkowl.

What else do you do to help get rid of some unwanted tension or anger or when your thoughts start racing, or you get nervous?

I engage my body in physical activity - cardio - weights - palates.. getting the endorphins pumped into the system on a regular basis relieves stress, clears my mind, and does my mind, body, and soul tremendous good.

If I find myself facing an immediate need for quick stress relief and I've already worked out for the day... I've also been known to go on a cleaning frenzy - washing walls, mopping a kitchen floor with bucket, rag and on hands-n-knees are all great ways I've found to release stress.

I find, if I get my body moving, engage in an otherwise mundane activity it frees my mind to process that which has upset my life balance. I sweat, I process... and I come out on the other side with an ability to let go of what ever it is that has caused the imbalance to begin with.

In finding the answer to the question you pose inkraven, I think you need to try a variety of things until you find the one that suits you best.

If you are satisfied with what you have done for them... You are in the right place and doing the right thing.

At the end of each day, I ask myself if I've made a positive difference in a child's life that day... I've yet to answer that question with "no"..

Quikstepper: Thanks!

I read/heard that the less education a woman has the better she enjoys sex. DUMB BLONDE

Having never been a blonde, I wouldn't know. But since the most powerfully erotic organ in the human body is the brain... I somehow doubt it.

Could that be the origin for the phrase, " I just f----- my brains out..."?

Could be! Would be fun to find out...

I AM - an enigma.

I sincerely think that if i knew less i would be a hell of a lot happier. What do you think you could do without knowing?

There isn't anything I now know, I would want to not know. Everything I know makes me who I am - if I were to start taking parts of that knowledge away because they are distasteful or hurtful, then I am going to end up with someone other than who I am today.

I've had discussions about a similiar topic - regret. Wanting to take back/change a life experience. I always answer this one the same way - I regert nothing I've experienced in life as all of my life experiences are part of what makes me the unique person I am, and changing those experiences, would change who I am today.

Unlike many, who don't like who they are, I kinda like me as me. :-)

Change definitely begins with the individual. Kennedy was onto something when he said, "Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country."

in accordance with our shrinking realities...
Country has become World.

Humanity...

what are you willing to do for ALL.

I am willing to face adolescents everyday who come to school hungry, angry, illiterate, rude, disrespectful, and crying out for someone who cares enough to love them anyway.

It might not be much to some, but it means the world to them.

Why is Obama being called our first black president instead of our first bi-racial president?

It has just been recently that the term bi-racial is being used to describe ethnicity - if you were "mixed" in the past, the only category open to you was considered "other." Although your point is valid.. I would think being considered black is better than being considered "other."

I wish i was other sometimesoops offtopic

Other than... what?

Great... another government agency telling us who we are and what we should call ourselves.
