Anyone else feel like nothing works? I'll be logging off real soon so I won't be able to check on this post for awhile, but I will later.

I feel quite alone in this; even though I know I'm not the only one that feels this way...ohwell

I more meant the searching; although now that I think about it I guess I've felt the same way when I was hooked up lol

Guess that's what causes me to be single yet again.

I feel the same way. If I've learned one lesson over the past 10 years, it's that dating sites simply don't work for some of us. I've been here 16 months and have yet to run across anyone compatible, anyone datable. The thing that has worked for me in the past was meeting people through other people I know -- and that's what I'm going back to.

I know, I live in an area where cows are more prevalent (and more intelligent) than the people -- if your family hasn't lived here for 17 generations, they want nothing to do with you, and I'm locked into a lease for a few more months. Lived here 2 1/2 years and have yet to meet anybody. I've lived in towns I would characterize as "apathetic" but this is the first one that strikes me as "actively hostile."

I've been lucky in that I was recently contacted by some old friends who still have connections elsewhere in the area. If not for that, I would be stuck --

In the long run everything will work out for you. Keep your head held high.

Dude dont let it get you down. Stop looking and that's usually when you'll find someone. I'm not on here to find a date but I understand many people are. I am fortunate enough to live somewhere where there are lots of women and I DJ so I get a lot of attention anyway. I've been in your shoes and feeling alone is a bit*ch. I hope you find happiness drinker

Sure, I've met a few bad ones that way -- that's how I met my ex-wife.

On the other hand, if it's a choice between meeting someone through friends, even assuming the risk that they're not all going to be great, vs. meeting absolutely no one on a dating site, I'll take my chances with the friends. At least there are actual, living, breathing people somewhere in the equation.

I know how you feel. I'm now at the point of throwing in the so called towel and hitting the supermarket on senior day. LOL

Many coffee dates, no chemistry. sad

I'm looking for men my age but it seems all the ones I get are falling apart from lack of maintance.I don't mine the rusty ones as I do have DW-40 but total lack of concern about ones appearance is a turn off for me.

One of the oldest and most horribly inaccurate cliches in the book. Like "a watched pot never boils." Watch long enough and turn up the heat, see what happens.

In my experience, "you'll find it when you stop looking" is an outright falsehood. I only find it when I AM looking, and when I let people KNOW I'm looking.
