I have a co-worker who is anti-hygene. Yes I mean exactly that.
She does not shower and has prolonged body oder. At her work area she will have a 4 course meal and be eating and using the computer and phone. The other day I had to restrain myself from telling her off because she sprayed strong tacky perfume all over herself. I am not allergic to perfume but I have been sick with a chest cold and when I breathe it, it gave me major coughing fit. I had to bring it up in a meeting to address her perfume and eating habits without naming names. How do you bring up "hey how about taking a shower once in a while? preferably once a week?"

I knew a girl in high school, who was deathly afraid of water...forget what it's called. She used baby wipes to clean herself, because the bath tub or shower gave her such severe panic attacks that she would faint. Which is not a good thing in a bath!

frown The baby wipes were not enough though and she always smelled terrible. frown

Oh I thought of that but then the harrasment claims will begin.
I did think of accidently dropping a bucket of water over her.

Officially, if I, as a plant superintendent had to address this with a person that worked for me I would have to go with our policies and procedures which would state "Creating a less than favorable work environment" If I were allowed to say what I really want to say Unoficially I would say "Girl, ya need to wash dat nasty ass"

Men are so.....direct. To the point. Great idea!!
I am going through that right now, the woman I am "closely" working with takes a cig break every hour on the hour - for 15 minutes. that's 1 hr and 45 minutes of getting paid for nada!! On top of that, she "stinks"!!! I just take my stack of papers and try to work in a corner or back to my "cubicle sweet cubicle".....oh how I wish I could work from home....then I could oomplain about me bein' stinko.....

I saw a movie where they dumped a bucket of water on this elderly lady and she melted.

I would file a restraining order against your co-worker. mad

When I worked for a big company the supervisor would have to say something to them, it is effecting your workplace. Plus that is just plain gross. LOL

I had a boss a long time ago whose breath was the pits and she was one of those "in-yer-face" types. I literally had to hold my breath until I nearly fainted at times. I couldn't focus on her words or the task at hand, it was sooooooooooo bad. But, what do you do? Even offered mints, etc. Wouldn't take.
And now, MY DENTIST has that weird intense nasty breath. I want so BADLY to tell her to put a mask on!!!!!! laugh laugh laugh

I had an employee that did that... It was like she showered once or twice a week, the same days she brushed her teethsick
Finally she came into work and I handed her some shampoo, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste and told her to go clean up. It's not professional. I know she was embarrassed but there really is no nice way of telling someone they smell. I didn't have a problem with her after that.
