What are your predictions when the new president of the United States enters office? What do you think he with Congress will accomplish? Please state which president also for me. thank you. I am not well versed in all the issues, but I do have opinions on certain ones.
Of the two man candidates, as of right now, I am leaning towards McCain and these are some reasons. Health care- I am against universal health which is what several dems, including Obama, want. McCain wants to offer tax credits to people who do not or can't get health care through their employers. He would also allow you to get Health care from any provider in the country and not just in your state. This could add more competition between providers and help lower prices. Tax cuts- McCain is in support of keeping current tax cuts and wants to focus tax cuts for middle americans. He also plans to lower government spending, particularly by emliminating earmarks Social Security- McCain would like to give people the option of putting less into Social Security and put that into private saving for retirement. I am all for this. Also thinks seniors with higher incomes should pay higher premium on drugs.( I am more for equal.. but this is acceptable) Minimum wage- He is against federal minimum wage and wants states to decide their own. I love this. Less power for federal government and more for local government. extras- He is pro NASA and Pro embryonic stem cell research |

Civil Rights 5. Economy 6. Foreign Policies Hello wise politician yourself, John McCain will be the next president. Although the polls favor Obama, during the Hillary and Obama face-off, the polls were always skewered in Obama's favor anywhere from three to five points. Taking this into account, it is obvious that McCain will win the election by a very narrow margin. What will he and Congress accomplish? 1. The situation in Iraq and Afghanistan will be better, but not settled. 2. Health Care is too complex an issue, particularly with both parties leaning in completely opposite directions. Nothing will be settled. 3. Education has gone steadily down hill for who knows how many years. I don't believe anything meaningful will be accomplished. 4. Civil Rights? I don't get this. What more do we need? Let's be realistic. There are always going to be people who will show prejudice against those who are different from themselves. By this I am not just talking about race, but also ethnicity, politics, religion, socio-economic status, and on and on. In my old neighborhood, there was an older gentlemen who was prejudiced against anyone who had attained a college education. There was also a young man who hated older people. There is nothing that can be done about this type of mentality. 5. Economy. The economy will turn around in another two years no matter who is president. 6. Foreign Policies. John McCain will certainly do a great deal of positive things in relation to this. |

I know its gonna happen in the next 20 years or so because more and more people are losing confidence in the lies that are being fed to them by the U.S. Government. Its coming to such a critical juncture and I no longer have confidence in America to do the right thing. I think McCain will get elected and he will make things much worse. Please don't be so negative in believing that "our country has been over for a long time and can't be fixed." Remember you are part of the greatest country in the world. Additionally, it doesn't matter who comes into office, whether it is McCain or Obama, it will take more than one man to fix the ills of this nation. Remember one party didn't cause our country's woes. It was the work of both Democrats and Republicans. North American Union .... Be careful what you wish for .... I don't think you understand what the ramifications of this would be. If you did, you would not be for it.

well since who every is president, they both are politicians. so they wont leave Iraq right away. when running both parties will say anything to get elected. so in the end nothing will change.

Additionally, you have all the Hillary supporters who are angry at Obama, particularly after that fundraising debacle of his. Why/how could he do what he did to Hillary? He had to be half drunk to do something like that. |

Go on as usual with no clear end in sight. 2. Health Care The Managed Care Organizations and other medical groups won't allow national health care because it's not profitable. 3. Education Bigger class sizes, less learning, more dropouts. 4. Civil Rights Better in some areas, worse in others. 5. Economy Flip a coin. 6. Foreign Policies Depends on who becomes President. More saber-rattling and further isolation of the United States from the international community if McCain gets in. In other words, 'my way or the highway'. Less if Obama gets in. |

I think neither deserve to be elected. It's pathetic. I'm thinking if americans would ever stand together we should throw all the incumbents out & vote a third party candidate...like Nader. Maybe we will get some real results. |

Yes well I suppose the running mate might make a difference for me but I'm not too hopeful. I'd actually like to see Condi Rice on the tkt. That might change my opinion. |

We need to just get rid of the "two party" system.... maybe have a 5 or 6 with some type of "mandated" equal spending (or a close percentage from each other)..... equal or close to equal air time..... i dont even care if the govt (i may stick my foot in it here) oversees it...
