It depends on how much more... I don't wanna make my partner feel bad or feel that he needs to spend more on me
|
|

i prefer to give and receive gifts that have little monetary value!

It's not the amount you spend but the thought beind the gift that counts.

I always think its the thought that it counts
I have been very happy with a book from my favourite author which I mentioned in passing and got it for my Birthday once. At the same token she was happy with the box set that she got for hers |

I love to spend money on people. I don't expect it back just a thank you is what makes me happy... What does everyone want???

I wouldn't really take the time to keep score.

it is more about the gift then the cost
what it means to the person you are giving to |

Depends what you mean by more.
I could give my partner a very expensive gift, but if they give something that means something, a gift from the heart, then it's worth more than my gift. |

the last gift i gave was to my kids. it is a backyard
tree swing with a single rope and a circular wooden seat painted with a sunburst pattern on it. i made it and hung it myself. total cost about $10 bucks. |

so you would't be upset if you gave me a $300 gift and I gave you the first penny we found together?

Its the meaning behind the gift.
I rather receive a refrigerator magnet(I just love them) than a expensive dress shirt. You have to pay attention to your partner, see what trips their trigger. Then the price is not an issue. |

I'm more about finding that perfect thing...something I know he has wanted, feel he will use often or just appreciate having it. If my gift is not used or loved, then it's just another thing taking up space.
I've been told I'm pretty good at this with everyone but my mother. She is kinda wishy washy though, wanting something one day and deciding it's useless the next. Very hard to buy for. |

I love to give a gift just to see his face when he'd open it---something to make him happy...

I had one that had been used to cover the name of a company on the side of a van. A foot and half wide, 3 ft long.

It doesn't matter.
IMHO it is the thought behind the gift that is truly important. You can buy an expensive gift for someone that you put no thought into and they do not like. Conversely, you can be on a tight budget and spend days thinking about and looking for the perfect gift within your financial parameters. |
