I find it very disturbing that some catholic priests do not get married and then sexually abuse children . The pope regrets and apologies for the sick behaviour . I always wondered how a healthy man can keep away from sex all his life . as a man who love sex I just can not understand that at all . I think all men should be able to get married if they wish to do so .
Celibacy is a harsh , tough and unnecessary behaviour for men and women .

Agreed, man is not meant to be alone. This is just one of the things many wrong with Catholicism.

In many religious traditions, celibacy is connected to the process of becoming holy, complete, perfect, and pure.

I can see that to a point maybe, but generally if one is to do that, there should be a reason for it, a purpose for saving yourself, to be pure for when you do fall in love. Do you understand what I mean?

No, I don't understand what you mean. Celibacy is part of their religious belief. Do you condenm Catholics for their beliefs? How about Hindus and Buddhists? Do you condemn them too?

The only thing to be condemned is the availablity of porn and the lack of a better screening process to see if people are ready for this.... Harming other people because you could not hold onto your vows is condemable ok............

when a man signs up to be a priest and a woman wants to be a nunt hey know the rules.
They are given time to try it out and see if they can handle it.
Nobody forced them to be a priest it was their decision, and they accepted the celabacy part of it with their own free will.

To me the institution of marrage should be addressed more than individual free will and if we don't have decent honorable priests and nuns the whole church will lose authority as it already has. If there are no real models of a possitive marrage or real models of stronge human will non of it makes sense. The first love is to be to God and then they unite a man and woman in marriage but the way that religion is formed there is no real example of how marrage is supposed to go. The catholics have rules about everything but no models to base success on just condeming and talk of sin... if the pope were allowed to have a wife and make a better example for everyone the church would have a better chance at being the ultimate authority. Cover all aspects of human life and not make humans do what is beyond human ability since we are all so fragile we are not pure or holy...so why expect us to be just lead the way it makes sense ...

i hope that made sense...but no one can change a world in a romace site...

celibacy is a gift from God it gives you much graces don't just sleep with anyone

If you do not have a urge to sleep with the opposite sex you are either frigid , impotent ,cold or gay .
The problem is a normal man needs sex with a woman . You have some priests who can not get married and sexually abuse poor children .
Religion hypocrisy at its best .

Dude, did you read your question.... "some Catholic priests don't get married"..... it is a condition of being a priest that you cannot marry.

Geesh.

Well then - I strongly advise you not to become a priest.

well first of all, there have only been a few priest out of the hundres or thousands. so please do not take a few cases that were exploded byt he media and push it on to the whole catholic faith. Celibacy is something that is honored in their religion and your place as an outsider is to not say whether or not its valid but merely understand that its sect of religion is different from your own. and Celibacy is practicsed in other religions as well not just catholicism take buddhist monks for example it is a way to purify oneself to get rid of that lust and to not be tainted by sexual encounters.

You have to also realize that to make this comment is to make the comment about all teachers because there have been a few media cases that have shown that a few teachers have had sexual encounters with their students is to mean that being a teacher is a tough, unnecessary and harsh behaviour .....

my advice be aware of what's going on but don't be suckered by the media.

ps.

normal is not having sex with other people, perhaps you should address the problem that young adults from age 13-21 1 in every 4 have an std. is that normal? i mean they were only sleeping with the opposite sex?

Normal is not a term that you can use to describe any religion, lets face it religion is not normal it is not logical. However, to its believers it is normal so what is your norm your truth is not theirs.

Priests vs Teachers
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-religion/1933666/posts

The AP’s investigation found more than 2,500 cases over five years in which educators were punished for actions “from bizarre to sadistic.” It said that on any given day, three educators are actively “hitting on” students, thus speaking to “a much larger problem in a system that is stacked against victims.”

It quoted a California lawyer who has spent 30 years investigating school abuse, saying that every school district in the country likely hosts at least one sex abuser.

By contrast, the series pointed out, over a 52-year period, some 4,400 priests were “accused” of molestation.

It appears that a teacher is a greater danger to children than priests (and teachers can get married), do you advocate the elimination of education?
