Perhaps (if you choose to reply)---you could respond with something like how you were only e-mailing as a courtesy, so as not to be rude, as you CERTAINLY didn't no care for his type.......flowerforyou
I emailed him back and told him that I didn't like his league anyways.

You go girl!!!!!!!!!flowerforyou

Wow, doesn't anyone get the phrase he used? He was saying that she is better than him and essentially not confident enough of himself to be with her.

How many have been with a friend and seen an attractive member of the opposite sex somewhere. Often the two will comment on what they see. One will comment "she's out of my league, man". That means; she's too good for him!

Geez!

She's like the Wind by Patrick Swayze....

She's like the wind through my tree
She rides the night next to me
She leads me through moonlight
Only to burn me with the sun
She's taken my heart
But she doesn't know what she's done

Feel her breath on my face
Her body close to me
Can't look in her eyes
She's out of my league
Just a fool to believe
I have anything she needs
She's like the wind

[SOLO]

I look in the mirror and all I see
Is a young old man with only a dream
Am I just fooling myself
That she'll stop the pain
Living without her
I'd go insane

Feel her breath on my face
Her body close to me
Can't look in her eyes
She's out of my league
Just a fool to believe
I have anything she needs
She's like the wind

Feel your breath on my face
Your body close to me
Can't look in your eyes
You're out of my league
Just a fool to believe
(Just a fool to believe)
She's like the wind
(Just a fool to believe)
Just a fool to believe
(She's like the wind)
Just a fool to believe
(Just a fool to believe)
She's like the wind
(Just a fool to believe)
Just a fool to believe
She's like the wind

(Just a fool...)
(She's like the wind)
(She's like the wind)
(Just a fool...)
(She's like the wind)
(Just a fool...)

Do you see how he is fully complimentary to her, and he believes that he is not good enough for her...

Trust me when you say "You're out of my league" it means you think that someone is better than you..vs. "Oh I'm out of her league" means she's not good enough for me...

Sounds more like he was complimenting you suggesting that you are in a "league" higher than him which is how the phrase in most often taken.

I think what he meant was that you are way better than he is and he, therefore, feels obliged to educate you that you are too good for him. That was refreshingly kind of him to let you know to look for better than him. drinker I've seen you on here. You exude class. He saw it, too. He's SO CLASSLESS, he can't take a compliment.

Did he say that YOU were out of HIS league? That would mean that he doesn't think he is good enough for YOU for some reason.

Or did he say HE was out of YOUR league? That would mean he is an arrogant son-of-a-rant, and your better off knowing & not wasting your time only to find out later.

You'll never know if they're in your league unless you step up to the bat and try to run the bases.

Me that sent the email to her? No way. I have never regarded any woman as out of my league!

As the 2nd verse shows in the song that Lily quoted, the phrase was taken in the wrong way and everyone is hammering away on some poor guy that made nothing more than a compliment.

Forgive me if I'm wrong here, but if he says you are out of his league isn't that a compliment to you? I think that means he doesn't feel adequete enough for you.
I was thinking the same thing...
