From our school district. Apparently Halloween offends people that don't celebrate it so this year... The kids are not allowed to wear costumes to school or celebrate it in any way. Friggin BS... I guess it doesn't matter that it offends ME that my daughter can't celebrate anything in school anymore.

Oh and Christmas party... yea thats gone. Apparently it's a "holiday" party. Which really doesn't bother me... except that they refuse to call it Christmas. However... they sing songs about Kwanzaa and Hannakah... then on to "holidays" laugh I mean it's OK for that but if someone says "christmas" people have a holy fit laugh I just don't get it.

Instead of solving the problem by honoring all things, they go in the reverse and ban everything. Why can't we ban the people that want to take everything away instead?

I agree... I think it's CRAP!!! But yet we can do a play about how the Indians are thankful for us stealing their country from them and killing them off... OOOOOHH and don't get me started on Columbus Day. rant

As far as ANY kid is concerned Halloween is a Celebration to get candy and NOTHING else, I'm not very sure how a little kids holiday can offend other people O.O

Jillie! Here's how you solve it:

Send your kid to school as a Pirate with a note that your religion dictates the wearing of a Pirate outfit on the day before Halloween. Tell them you belong to the Temple of CB.

I'll cover you from there. I know peeps at the ACLU.

VIVE LE REVOLUCIONE!

And if I don't get offended for my daughter to get up there and celebrate hannauka or kwanzaa.... why should other people care if kids wear a silly costume to school for halloween?
