Ok, this conversation is not a copy and it didn't happen with the same words but kinda typical...

guy:- I'm good, and you?

girl: I'm ok.

guy : - I feel better already every day, I like how the days are getting longer and it's warmer outside, I can't wait to go outside, ride around with my bike, or go fishing ....do you like Spring or what is your favorite Season?

guy: (trying to get the convo going): yeah, Even tough I like the Summer, it's gets very sticky here, I hate humidity, I never get used to it..but a couple of years ago i was down in California and I liked the dry heat, I don't know why....I was down in Las Vegas..now that was a lot of fun, have you been there?

She's not much of a talker. My suggestion is to talk about SHOES!!!!

Oh boy she must have been hot to go that long. If they can't answer me in complete sentences then I tend to get bored rather quickly and well I have the IM turned off.
I figure if they want to talk to me they can email.

WTH...So this goes both ways if you want to chat with someone then do it. Small talk is okay in the beginning then let's talk if not why bother contacting in the first place.

You were dull and that was not was she needed at the time.i usually ask what the person was up to before i decide how to relate,its obvious there was no focus or reason to hold in that conversation you need not have refered to her pain funny enough you can get stuck with whoever in conversation without necessarily going thru profiles

When I first joined the site and discovered the forums, I had a guy contact me for the first time by IM. It read:

Hi I need to talk to you asap, my name is XXXXX then his phone number



Of course I did not accept the im, 10 minutes later and email saying the same thing

I did not reply!

5 MINUTES later another im, he continued this for the entire time I was online

Eventually I blocked him, once I learned you could do that

It happens. I hate when someone IMs you and then they don't have anything to say. If you are going to IM someone or even talk on the phone be prepared to talk about something.

My favorite is when you get an IM and it starts out with Hi! How are you? and of course you reply, but then the person who started the conversation asks so what do you wanna talk about?
