Hi All!
So far--> it seems like the main issue to everyone is the distance... why is that the issue? If you get to know someone & enjoy talking to them over an extended period of time, then what is the issue? Eventually, you can meet & discover the person you've grown fond of.
I want to meet someone... either i'm really really picky or it is just not going to happen for me...
:)
Just venting-->haha.

It very easy to be "Too Picky"! I've been labeled as "Too Picky" by people that know me(friends). I don't think I am...I figure I'm waiting on what I want...not what I'm willing to settle for. That just ain't right. So, just go with what YOU think...it's your heart at risk! JMO drinks

Been there -- done that -- and they're never the person I've grown fond of -- the person I've grown fond of always turns out to be a fictional character being portrayed by an actress for some other agenda.

No thanks. I'm not interested in that end of the entertainment world.

I'm doing the distance thing with my man and we are trying to get him here so we cane be close. If u really care for someone then the distance thing should not be a problum.

she is quite correct, distance should never be a hindrance in a meaningful relationship.

the problem with distance for me is money and affection. as much i would love to go see certain women i would try and want to go for, expenses can be ass kickers. im a student and with that being said, i cant splurge as much as i would want to. now for affection, im an affectionate person, hence i would like to show said thing much as i can, and with distance, that can pose an issue imo.

Yeah... same here. It's all about money and whether or not the connection is as strong as would inspire me to go and meet the LDR.

Of course, if my finances were substantial, I'd probably be more willing to go out and travel to meet said people.

Not in a position to leave, I have teen-aged children, a house, work commitments that will keep me here for about 3 more yrs.

It's not a problem for me, and I had two longterm, successful relationships that both started 2,000 miles away.

Each moved to Cali because I had the better paying job (at the time).

When I meet someone that I click with, and we have amazing chemistry, and compatibility, but he is not ambitious enough to consider either of us relocating, it irritates me! slaphead

It's hard to find someone of quality, and when people don't get off their arse and TRY, it really bothers me. grumble

Oh, they are always the first ones to complain about NOT finding anyone too! slaphead grumble

I would be willing to relocate in a heartbeat if I found my s/o. It would be difficult as I have a daughter and my parents live nearby and she is the only grandchild.

But, when she gets a bit older....you never know.

Relocating is not a problem for me as I am in a different State nearly everyday... of course the down side is that I am in a different State almost everyday...

Trust, honesty, and communication. Long distance can work but it requires those three things to flow near perfectly, I'm in a long distance relationship now...we talk everyday and night, we remain honest and trust each other.

Honestly, never thought it would work...but is working far better for me than my last LDR I had. Although I'm working on my own issues and focusing on improving myself emotionally, which is going good.

Keep at it, it could happen or it could fail do keep in mind that a majority of them do fail though.

Distance is tricky. It can work, but it takes work...
Then again, so do local relationships.
