Hi everyone, There are a few profiles on here that dont really seem to add up. When they write about what they are looking for it comes out like they dont really know English. One emailed me and said she lived in Houston most of her life but her spelling is really bad. Is this scammers or what? Havent been on an online dating site before.So just wondering.

Could be, or perhaps she is just a horrible speller? If the profile "feels" wrong to you, I'd say just click on the next one :)

IMO that would be a purty good indication sumthin ain't right. Especially if the 'grammar' just don't seem right also.

Yup...similar to kreegslist. They use google translate. Just never adds up.

Please make sure that when that happens report them through their profile and let Admin check them out. If in fact they are scammers they will deal with them. Mingle does try to eliminate all scammers/spammers from the site. But in order to do so we do rely on the members to report all issues.

I'd say its legit...considering you can post in a "science and philosophy" community and be told what you posted is "in the wrong forum" but then at the same time post something in "creative writing and poetry" and have it moved to "science and philosophy" and then post something in "general discussion" and have it moved to "bar and chit chat" ---- My opinion? Don't take it worth much...because it really isn't

Poor grammar and spelling are indicators but not the only things. Asking questions is often a dead give away. If they can't talk intelligently about where they live...might not live there. If they very quickly want to IM on Yahoo is often another indicator. Or if they quickly want to know your e-mail is a good indicator. Key is when after only one or two e-mails they know you are the one for them. Yeah right.

And THEN you have the mingle profiles that use pics from adult models, too. They aren't fooling anyone with that crap.
