I would imagine they would... Either way unless you truly forgive this person there is going to be trust issues and you may never feel content.. Cheaters are scum... It's better to break up with them...

I've always held the opinion of once a cheat, always a cheat. History repeats itself.

I know some claim that it can be a one time occurrence, but the circumstances that led them to cheat could certainly happen again, and what reassurance would I have that they wouldn't "fall victim" again?

Some people decide to make a change in their character which will make the transgression a lot less likely to reoccur...

You are right, some people do decide to make a change. I just don't know that I'd ever trust them again, but that is my personal issue, not theirs.

They may not cheat again in another relationship because they have learned how dysfunctional that is,,,, however I wouldn't wait around to see if they would cheat on you again... Let someone else deal with it...

A change in habits, lifestyle and environment will prevent that "victimization" from happening again...

"victim" is such an easy copout, instead of accepting that the actions were entirely theirs and taking the blame...

While I do believe that people can change if they truly want to and are motivated, I also think that most cheaters have terminal the grass is greener on the other side syndrome and they always have to be looking for that bigger better deal. A general sense of dissatisfaction with life when usually what they are is dissatisfied with themselfs. And instead of looking for ways to "fix' themselfs they look for someone to "fix them" for them.

Most will but some won't some seem to wake up and smell the roses . Realizing the damage and heartache it will do. Also they might have learned what love and a relationship means. And not to take it lightly ever again.. I know of people who have changed for the better. And I believe them.

Hmmmm, maybe in some instances. In my situation, he used those as his excuses (lifestyle and environment, I guess it would fall in to), and attempted to shift the blame onto me. *shrug* In that instance, he was playing victim, and the likelihood of a repeat was high, so I walked.

Depends on if they truly learn their lesson when they cheat. Warning sign: if they jusify cheating in any way by themselves or others then they do not think cheating is wrong.

I have cheated in the past as pay back for being cheated on. I learned two rights don't make a right and have since not cheated.

So it can be a learning lesson.

In my own opinion I believe it could be a possibility that a cheating lover will cheat again... But why tolerate it in the first place... I don’tt believe in second chances when it comes to a lover that has strayed... If there is no trust in a relationship then it really isn’t a relationship at all... Isn’t a relationship based upon trust, loyalty etc... How does one even recover from that, I couldn’t.
