I was watching the demonstration that happened here yesterday over the National Healthcare plan. Pelosi was here touring a clinic.
When they interviewed the anti healthcare people, I was shocked to see that they believe lies or made up facts. The national healthcare bill is not a violation of anyone's constitutional rights at any level, so where do they get that information? It is not socialized healthcare either so where do they get that information? The anti national health care people seem to believe that the healthcare problem is not a serious one. Is that because they all have healthcare? Do people realize that there are forces at work that do not want this type of healthcare offered because it would hurt their bottom line? That these forces would say anything to stop this from happening? I have to wonder is this the result of an underlying issue that has nothing to do with healthcare. Because the validity of the argument is mute????? |

I agree with you; I also believe is everyones problem because ultimately we will pay the price for uninsured citizens. I think is time that we (the people)worry about our own, here and now. |

Noone has to take the option. once again...right on page 16...after this bill becomes law...and is in place for 1 year...employers will no longer be able to add " new "...enrollments...so...if you start a new job...get laid off...or...your employer run plan changes for some reason...you will not be able to join your new companies healthcare plan...your only option will be the government plan...as far as Obama saying he just wants competition...theres already 1300 companies who provide healthcare...if the goverment becomes an option...they'll put everyone out of business...because the government...doesn't have to make a profit to survive... |

Funny you should point this out. Was listening to the radio the other day, and some of the callers thought that you had to put your political affiliation in writing, and republicans were going to be denied healthcare that the democrats could get....
This made me laugh. I do believe, many who appose the system, have no idea why they do, or they have false ideas. But, on the other hand, some have very good reasons to be against this specific bill. There is no black and white i see. Just shades of grey. |

You are misreading. All insurances have enrollment periods. After the enrollment period is done you cannot enroll or disenroll until the enrollment period comes again. The option of national healthcare being there for you during a time when you missed the enrollmemt or whatever is still an option. Most people would be glad of the coverage during one of these enrollment fiasco times. |

Since insurance companies have enrollment periods and do not enroll or disenroll outside of these periods, people get uninsured for a year since they only do them once a year. To have the option of going to the national program for a year so you are insured would be a blessing for those who somehow got messed up enrolling do to changing jobs in the middle of the year between enrollments or whatever. The national healthcare would be available all year round instead of having an enrollment period so that makes it a fall back option. |

at least most places get an option on healthcare, in Massachusetts its an option only in that you either have healthcare of pay a fine every year for not having it.
I think some kind of option for healthcare, especially for the people that work part time or are out of work at the time is a good thing. |
