The original game of tarot is a game of chance and is similar to bridge. I don't know how to play it, but I think it would be interesting to learn and I may do so when my deck is finished.

The Major Arcana are considered 'trump' cards.

Cards, (both tarot and regular playing cards) have been used to 'tell fortunes' for hundreds of years. The reading of the cards, much like the reading of signs and tea leaves, is just a means by which some intuitive people have learned to listen to the messages of the subconscious mind.

I started learning about tarot cards and reading them out of curiosity after reading an article about the experience of a college student who tried it for an experiment for the purpose of writing a college essay about the "occult."

There is nothing at all 'mysterious' or 'occult' about the cards themselves, any more than tea leaves or runes. Yet some people have been totally brainwashed with strange ideas about the cards being 'evil' or 'forbidden.'

I tell these people... THEY ARE ONLY PICTURES. That's all they are.

No where in the Bible are tarot cards forbidden. Where do they get these ideas and why do they keep hanging on?

my mom's family won't even play with "regular" cards.... they are evil too. They say because they are used in gambling and the jokers are somehow connected to the devil.
I say you can make ANYTHING as evil or good as you want to.
It's just ridiculous

I play with the cards, palmistry, pendulums...and MANY tell me how "evil" it is, I don't understand it either...

they always told me tarot cards are evil because they have to do with "witchcraft". Basically ANYTHING outside of the bible is evil and wrong and should be avoided.

King Willie from the Jamaican Voodoo Posse loves them but he also rolls chicken bones across the top of a 55 gal.oil drum & puts hexes on ppl.so he may not be the best example as proof & validity of the cards non-evil intent.

They are not evil, or good, they are just cards, and their order is random, and all interpretations of them are meaningless.

But i can see how people find them amusing.

I am not a witch and until recently I thought you were all evil and something to be feared...even though I still don't understand what it really means to be a witch I don't feel now that you are evil and I would not be afraid to be friends with one..that being said do one of y'all have a love potion...

JB, it doesn't matter what it is, tarot or baseball cards. Anyone can make anything as evil as they choose to make it. As ridiculous as it may be, some people feel they don't have a choice in the matter. It truly is or isn't evil.
