God Nichole I havent been on for a few days, I am soo sorry to hear this, I am glad he is better , I will say a prayer for the 2 of U EVERY day!!  Thanks Mikey, you know me, I am a fighter! We'll both bounce back from this, but it sure was a frightening thing to witness!

My son had a seizure last night and stopped breathing. I took him to the ER and they transferred him to another local hospital with a pediatric ICU. He was put on a breathing machine and they did a lot of tests on him. As of this morning, they've done chest x-rays, a CT scan, lots of bloodwork and will be doing an EEG for the seizures. He is stable but they think he won't be released until tomorrow sometime. I am a wreck, slept at the hospital last night, came home just to get a shower, clean clothes and then heading right back up to be with him.  Prayers for njmom son Thanks, Mirror! I appreciate that.

Glad to hear the update.....I hope the meds do their job. We got lucky and the first one we tried has worked well! I can't believe that about the cop story....wow! I'm so sorry to hear this......wasn't what you needed to end your weekend. Goodness! Hugs to you Nicole...keep up the good work! Thanks and that is wonderful that the meds are helping your kiddo. So far this one is good, the side effects are a bit of a pain, but I'd rather deal with some additional behavior issues over the seizures. |

So sorry to hear your news of Chris. Hopefully he is going to perk up when they get the medications worked out. Glad you are back home. If there is something I can do to be of assistance let me know. You are always on my prayer list anyway. Try to rest as much as possible I know this has to be hard on you. I am usually up real late if you need company. J |

what is causing his seizures? has he had them before? is it triggered by something? did he fall and hit his head?
i could try to get some information from U of W nuerology dept...if i knew where to look..... duffy

I am usually up real late if you need company. J Thankfully I think we are finally on the right track. We have a neurologist and he is on meds which is something I've been trying to get for a few months now. It always amazes me how stubborn doctors can be, my son has issues, its part of his syndrome, so why fight me when I ask for help. I appreciate your kind words, having someone to talk to is always so helpful!

You are so correct, I couldn't have asked for a better team of doctors and nurses who tended to him. So attentive, they asked questions, they listened to what I said, they allowed me to offer suggestions and I listened to what they wanted me to do. Hopefully now things will be better.

A quick update. Christopher has been on meds since he was in the ICU a few weeks back, thankfully he's only had one little seizure since then and it was because he slept right through a dose and missed it.
Tomorrow morning he goes in for the outpatient EEG, we have to be at the hospital at 6:45am. Hopefully all will go smoothly and we'll be home by the afternoon. The sedation is the tricky part since he is terrible about taking any sort of meds by mouth. |

The worst part is the anesthesia, its risky for anyone. But thankfully he is so strong and healthy despite the special needs. At least he'll be asleep and they should be able to get a good reading and be able to track the brain waves. |
