Topic: fences build good neighbors?

I would like 2 tell you about my fence. It is a cedar fence that cost me a good chunka of mooooola....

Someone loosened the pickets on my fence and so my boxer/pit mix crawled through one of themm scaring my neighbor, Mrs.Iwamotez. Animal Control said she(my dog) loosened all 14 of them in areas the dog never went, but I think it was the neighbor, Mrs. I that did it. UC she used to feed them chicken bones. Dog got hungry, and crawled through the fence looking for more. Not my fault if the dog liked chicken bones. Or is it?

Anyway it cost me $500 to fix the fence, and secure it. So now since I own the original fence, the support cross beams, and the posts that my father put in about 50 years ago, Mrs. Iwamotez decided to build her own fence attaching it to my fence. However, she was not sure she had enough money to redo the original fence which my father also built along with her clothes line. At least that is what she told Happy Miller, the Green Builders. But it must have cost at least 2k to build a new one all around the yard, but not help with the other repair. Then, she got a new chimney thingy, and a lovely door with stained glass window. Now I bet that cost a chunk. Where did all that money come from if she was not sure she had funds to cover the fence. Was that a lie?

Last summer I heard them, the Iwamotez family, yell they did not like me nor my dogs when they were having a party. They heehawed. I was sitting right near the fence nude sunbathing, so I heard it all. And get this.....
The German Shepherd in my foster care recently died of suspicious circumstances as did another dog 2 years ago from Dicon poisoning.
Who do you suppose did that?

Recently I had to hang my dog blankets on the fence to keep them from spying on me cause they like to look through the slats. Then, imagine when I found her trees growing up 12' high on my side of the fence, and dropping their needles which made a pile about 4' high now. Never once did they volunteer to cut them. However, they got their needles back. Are they pleased? Don't know.

And imagine what I thought when I discoverd that someone from her side had been stealing my nice river rock which made the rock wall look a little funny missing some of it's rocks. And when I wondered where the hell my mother's bird bath went, and I found it in her yard, I was really pissed. Then, where were they when I was cleaning the hillside where they had dumped their cement? Why they were looking over the fence scowling. Not once did they ever offer to help with that either.
Mrs. Iwamotez, today I saw you push my dog blanket off my/your fence, and if u touch it again, I am going to shoot you. With my camera that is.     bigsmile blushing

All I'm gonna offer is dogs should NEVER have chicken bones! they are the worst, they splinter and will cut up a dogs insides. If at all possible, try to talk to them. Ask them since you both seem to have difference of opinions on things in life, could you just be good neighbors and leave it at that. Be the first one, rise above, make the peace or it will slowly get worse.

Call the cops. Aside from that, there is little you can do...aside from throw gasoline into an already pretty well lit fire...be the big person.

Duffy, you may need to run a strand or two of electric fence on the inside of your fence. It sucks that you have to do it all, when it's more then likely the neighbors who are doing it, but the need to protect your baby comes first and foremost. Unless you can swing a video monitor and have the fence watched. Or learn to fire a paintball gun and when you see them peering through shoot them in the face.

You may need to see if there's a way you can stop your dog from picking up strange food, or food from strangers. One day's chicken bones can be the next days rat poison laced steak. A friend lost two of his dobies to that.

Shasta, it's actually cooked chicken, turkey bones that are the problem. The high temp heating changes the substance of the bone so that it splinters rather then snaps.

Well, I assumed she meant cooked. They shard can cut up a dogs insides over a couple of days. Anyway, no one should feed anyones PETS except the owner. If permission is given, the owner needs to be present and each time they are given something from anyone. It also is a way of getting the dog to accept someone for later problems (break-ins, etc)

Duffy, I feel really awful for you and I am sorry you have to tolerate these horrible Iwamotez's being your neighbors. I know this is probably an uncomfortable subject, but have you gone next door and had a face to face with Mrs. Iwamotez, other than about the fence thing? A sort of "lets cut the crap and lets resolve this issue we seem to be having?" Or is this more of a silent feud between you and them, mostly them, but it affects you, so you're in the feud too. And yes, she's lyin' her "A" off, it's not hard to see. But someone needs to do something before this escalates into something worse. You may have to take F&L's advice, but then you are basically calling the cops on your neighbors, and you know there could be serious fallout from that, so tread carefully. This is a tough one, and I wish I had some sagely advise for you, but all I can offer is my concern and sympathy for what you're going through.flowerforyou

um well the background is that our family knew the "I" family for 35 years. this is a parental thing.
so when parents died, i moved in for good, that is when trouble started.
did not know there was a problem. until things started happening. no idea they hated my dogs. no idea they were doing stuff until animal control paid a visit. call the police, um don't think so. i have posted about AC, and LPD before. not my friends.

SHOOT AT THEM WITH PAINTBALLS? now that is a good idea if i stand guard all day and night.laugh with my army ranger night vision goggles.bigsmile bigsmile bigsmile bigsmile bigsmile noway

YOu know, I've been thinking, where would a person get night vision glasses and whats the price range? For my walks at night in the desert, they'd be pretty amazing.

You might try Wal-Mart for some inexpensive night vision stuff. Also a sporting goods store like Gander Mtn or Cabelas.

Well then, deal with it since you won't take the proper action to get it rectified.

You're the one going on about it, not me. If you don't want to take action to make it stop there is no use in bitching about it.
