You can, but sex without at least some emotional attachment is severly lacking in whatever it is that makes sex so overwhelminly enjoyable. Doesn't do much more for you than masturbation. I speak from experience.

Well this is just your opinion. For me I had no emotional attachment and I really did enjoy the sex. In some ways more than when I was going out with someone. Everybody is different!!<<--Remamber that!!

It depends on what you mean by emotion. Sex without passion and desire is as dull as dish water. The other person has to excite you on a sexual level. You don't have to be in love. However, many people confuse passion and sexual desire love.
