to take a drug test to get a job, then you should need a drug test to get welfare. Doesn't that make sense?

You don't make sense of soup, you just eat it ...

The government doesn't understand simple concepts.

If they did that, the wefare line would be much shorter.

Drug testing violates the US Constitution in regards to the right to privacy and the right against self-incrimination. It should never have been enacted in the first place. Of course RW nutbags love it because they like to control people's habits and of course further punish the pale and downtrodden.

Yeah "less welfare"....but more homelessness and starvation which will lead to more crime.

NICE resolve eh? Next!

I am not any wing, I see just as much wrong with one party as the other. I'm just saying what's good for the goose is good for the gander. And as for further punishing them, drugs are against the law and you're trying to justify the use of them. Sorry Mr. Lefty, that caca doesn't flush.

I was on welfare and I am far from a druggie. You really offend me and it really p*sses me off. Like I said, get YOUR facts straight. You know NOTHING about the system.

Drug users or abusers are using funds allocated for kids.

If they were tested, the parent would go to jail or prison and the kid would be placed in a more wholesome environment.

Drug use while supposedly being a parent is child endangerment.

yeah well my sister is a neonatal intensive care nurse and treats babies that are born addicted to drugs. When the babies are released, they go back to the drug addict mother. Nothing can be done about it due to stupid laws! It's VERY sad and it all starts there! DHR does NOTHING. So take it up with the lawmakers to CHANGE that law and you won't have to worry about this! I mean THEY take most of YOUR tax dollars.

That is where testing for drugs at the welfare level would do good.
If they were tested positive, no welfare. No welfare, the parent either gets clean and reapplies or gives up the child to pursue their drug career.

What facts? I merely stated my opinion. This forum is open for that right? My opinion is simple, black and white, there is no gray. Either you agree or not.

Theres a reason why drugs are illegal....they make people stupid!!
Only losers use drugs, thats why the left is so intent on making everyone use them...they'll get more votes that way.

well, not really. I mean if the drug testing was for the right to earn money, I would agree,, but its actually a fail safe against liability the employer might face if the employees drunken actions interfere with the customer service, or rights

there is no liability on welfares part for what welfare recipients do,, however welfare EMPLOYEES do have to be tested

No.

Because it would cost more to do the drug tests than the tax payers are willing to pay for one.

Second, assuming people that are already in dire straits in life are all druggies is a bit prejudice.

well then every employer asking for one is prejudiced as well, I don't make the rules, just questioning them. Question...where did I assume?

Ok, I apologize. I was using the pronoun "I" when it should have been "we". I work for myself, so I can't be forced to take a drug test...lol hope this clears things up.

What about drugs given with a script from the doctor? These drugs are allowed as long as you have the script, people abuse these as much if not more than illegal ones??

How about alcohol drinkers? Hell, we don't even test for alcohol in the schools either...of course Bush went after steroid use instead of teen drinking...don't get me started about Big Drunk.

But no, this is always blown up because it gives haters a way to punish people for being poor. It's a weird thing this hatred for the poor...but most of the poor people are black and the GOP does not want them to have an address, or a vote...that's why they went after ACORN. Connect the dots with these people.

The Drug War is a total failure...why don't we drug test congress first!. And the "goose and gander" thing, what's that about? They are poor and should be drug tested?...how's that even close to making sense?

Maybe people should not drink drugs and then post on boards. Maybe we should drug test people who want to speak publically? Slippery slope there yo.
