Here down south TN. Yesterday we had snow flurries and they left us with a temp of bitter 28 degrees today brrrr. I left Minnesota to get away from the cold. Apparently I didn't move far enough!!! But, the bright side of this weather, I get to cuddle up with my blanket in front of my fireplace listening to christmas carols with hot coco! The only thing I lack is a partner to share with.

If one hates/despises something, wouldn't it make sense to move to where it didn't exist?

We're expecting lows of 38 tonight, with highs into the mid-60s during the day. I think some people here saw snow briefly, and I remember seeing it the last around when I was single-digits old. If you don't like snow, move south!

There are a lot more factors in moving than the weather. Perhaps they like the area they live in except for the snow? Or they have a good job there. Or great friends. Or family they don't want to leave behind.

In San Diego: 50 degrees with the sun trying to make its way out. Our mountain areas two hours east of here get all the snow. I drove school buses over there to take kids to winter camp. Cutbacks have forced the kids not to go as much as they used to.Oh, but how they loved to throw snowballs. After all these were kids from the inner city. A lot of them never played in snow all their lives!!!!!

We have several inches now and the roads are a mess, my little street probably won't see a plow until sometime tonight. I love the first real snow! Got home from errands to find that my young neighbor had shoveled my driveway! What a great surprise! I will be walking over to my folks this evening for ribs, glad I bought the boots I did last year, was tired of going through the winters in sneakers!! LOL!

Just to be clear, I am always cold in my house, no heat upstairs due to poor design of my house. Downstairs the warmest room is maybe 58, I live under blankets and wear lots of layers!! But still I love living on the mid coast of Maine!!

The exact opposite for me. Heat rises and the hottest room in the house is my bedroom. I'd rather it not be, so that I could keep the A/C bill lower in cost, but so be it. I keep the a/c at a higher temp during the day with the ceiling fans always on, and then drop the temp right when I go to bed.

A brisk 22 degrees here with about 6 -8 inches of snow on the ground.
It will be here until late March.

Rubbish! winking I guess what I ultimately mean is, you CAN change the situation if you truly dislike/hate it enough. It's all a matter of the pros and cons of where you live. The weather may be a con, but then the job, family, etc. are pros.

I would hate a hot bedroom. I keep a heavy piece of fabric across the opening to my stairs or else all the heat would suck right up there. since I spend most of my time downstairs I want what heat I have down here too. last winter there were times when I could see my breath in my bedroom and that is a bit cold even for me! Glad I have such a comfy sofa for when it gets that cold up there!

I prefer massive state gov. debt. I just don't like snow and I am in a great location for me. It suits me just fine. Just love not having to get up and shovel snow and all that other stuff. I also love the sun being out much of the time and wearing nice lightweight clothes. JMO

Love the people and the sights here and I can see them on warm sunny days.

True, but I still love where I am. Just a fundemental disagreement. That is my story and I am sticking to it. I am not going anywhere and I still don't like snow, that is the bottom line !!!!!!

Snow is one of the things we deal with if we live where it snows, where we have all four seasons, be it some are longer than others. I would not want to live anyplace that doesn't have four seasons because each holds it's own beauty and having one move into another lets us experience that beauty. Three of them can also have big downsides, to darn hot and humid, to many leaves to rake and to darn cold and snowy. Look for the good and deal with the bad. Again I reserve the right to b***h when I am shoveling for the umteenth time but for now, this first snow is lovely especially covering the xmas lights.

It took me many years to get here, moving is expansive and often impossible due to jobs so I think that suggestion is overly simplified. If we could all move to where we would be happiest then why don't we all have perfect jobs/lives/loves etc etc?
