If you like them and they like you is the main thing I think. If you don't have that going for you then the rest is really a moot point. But if that is going for you what does it really matter what anybody else thinks. But since this is about race lets not forget about the thrill of the chase. Maybe they might have an issue or two and that would give you the time to catch up and catch them before they get away.

I've never dated outside my race before, as they say, but I am very attracted to white guys (I'm black by the way).Do you think people still have a problem with interracial relationships? If you are in one or have been in one, how did people act towards you?

I don't mind it. I'm attracted to women of all colors. love drool

Younger generations don't seem to have a problem with such dating.
Perhaps it's because they see the stupidity of racism.

As for me, I'd be flattered if an attractive black woman wanted to date me. However, she might have some competition.

I have dated a mixed race and I would date outside my race anytime. My circle of friends also prefer white guys and with very good reason too. The heart is not so smart and it goes where it should not go...yes, I am singing that song now...all the best.

Whats the very good reason? Because the heart does that? Or are they separate ideas? Just curious.

They are separate ideas.

I have dated interracially for many years now and it was one of the main reasons that first drew me to internet dating.

Based on personal experience, I would be reluctant to date anyone that hasn’t dated interracially only because they have tended to be more confident behind closed doors than in public. I need my man to walk proudly by my side and be ok with holding my hand, giving me a kiss or a cuddle regardless of where we are or who we are with.

Staring (from all races), has tended to be the main reaction, but you gravitate to places/areas where you both feel comfortable. Even travelling as an interracial couple has been ok. I haven’t felt any animosity in other European countries – not even in Spain, which is well known for being racist towards people of colour.

The only other advice I would offer is be to remember that you are dating a MAN first and foremost... Colour is irrelevant!

There is still a lot of prejudice out there.

You being in Alabama (or Texas, Mississippi, etc) would make it tough on you I think, IDK. I know it is more liberal in CA though.

I live in California and it depends where you are. Smaller town you can get a lot of stares, bigger cities they don't care. My last bf was of a different race and we received stares. I think largely because seeing a black woman with a white, Asian or Latino is still kinda rare. In case some don't know brown sugar is sweet too.

lol, I wonder if the author's husband is aware. I could have written a much shorter article. It would have gone like this:

1 Reason to date a white man

White men are as diverse as black men and any trait (With the exception of skin color or hair texture) you are looking for in a man, you can find in a white man OR a black man.

I have never dated a black girl before, but i have always had an interest. My family and friends would never except it tho and i wouldn't want to upset them in anyway. But i would still like to be with a black girl. Even tho i don't want a serious relationship with a black girl i would like to find someone who would be interested in being good friends

there is plenty of interracial couples here in Texas... but mainly in the big cities, it's still not real popular in the smaller towns...

I think its whatever makes you happy....

I have dated outside of my race before, and i found the reactions vary greatly based on where i was, and what race i was dating...

When i dated spanish guys, no one ever really seemd to notice...

When i dated a black guy while living on the coast, it wasnt a big deal, really... no one seemed to pay us any mind..

when i woudl go out with a black guy (we didnt really date, we were friends and would just go out a lot together) when i lived in Ohio people would give us the look of death! it was crazy! We even got put in the back of one restaurant with ALL the black people that were dining (the first 2 sections of the restaurant were all white). That was SUCH culture shock for me being from the coast!

but really, i think its whatever floats your boat... if someone doesnt like it, screw 'em!
