Topic: And Ron Paul..............

I signed a petition for Ron Paul. It was about adding the Libertarian party to the ballot. I signed because I will do anything to get rid of this 2 party system, and yes I know you can be an independent but we all know it's pointless when it comes to elections. I want people to stop looking at what party they belong to first and judging them second and start judging our candidates based squarely on the person running. As soon as you throw Rep or Dem in the conversation people get biased. That's why Ron Paul is the only person I'd vote for, he's something different from the usual Reps and Dems. If it takes so many parties being added to the ballot that they have to get rid of parties all together, I'll consider it a win.

Considering he is almost an anarchist, I could never vote for him.

He is a lunatic worse than what we have had. Which is pretty bad.

You demonstrate here a complete misunderstanding of both anarchism and lunacy. There's loads of great literature on anarchism out there if you care to look. Center for a stateless society is a good start- c4ss.org and mises.org publishes a lot of anarchist literature and history free (as well as literature on economics, philosophy, epistemology, etc, etc)

Ron Paul works in Washington EXACTLY like every other politician...

And he has for over 30 years. Every Ron Paul supporter has stated power and Congress corrupts and they think he is immune.

By your statement someone would have to also be a "lunatic" to vote for him?

That being the case, many veterans and serving soldiers are lunatics, as well as me, most of my family and friends, 1/2 the students in colleges, many professors and educators, and many millions of others who believe his views, actions and words to symbolize patriotism, honesty, integrity and wisdom.

From my house, your world would seem very small by comparison, as a veteran, I could vote NO other, as a father, he has given the only answers that5 give me hope for the futures of my children and my childrens children, as a patriot, his stance on the constitution, liberty and the rule of law are the only sane ones offered by ANY candidate.

So call me a lunatic, I fought for your right to do so, but don't besmerch a great man for his views as being one!

Yea the good ole guilt trip.

I suppose it works for some.

Not this one.

Ron Paul is a lunatic. If you want to call yourself one for following him, that is your business.

I never said that.

I cannot vote for this lunatic that would surely tear this country down.

You forgot racist.

You have to ask when it comes to RP...."what is everyone so afraid of? The truth?" He hasn't changed his views or votes, opinions or morals in 30+ years, returns money every year from his budget, never takes the taxpayer funded congressional junkets, doesn't accept the lucretive retirement plan congress voted for themselves, has NEVER been accused of taking a bribe or corruption in office, has NEVER voted for a tax increase or "unfunded" expense, an increase in the debt ceiling, or anything that goes against the constitution.....

Yep, he's a lunatic! How dare he think his oath of office, to protect and defend the constitution of the United States, is something to take seriously, none of the rest of them do!

And in his lunatic state of mind he has his own "interpretation" of the constitution which isn't exactly correct either.

The constitution was written before there was such BS as political correctness, broad interpretation, and 10,000 different lawyers, judges and other shysters spinning it to get the results they wanted out of it, and TVs in every room of your house for them to sell their interpritation to you along with their products and their puppet leaders.

When you try to colorize something that was best in black and white, you end up with a poorer quality of the product. A reproduction, with less heart and soul than the original..... not better, just different with less appreciation to its original value.

to be fair, he doesnt seem to have held much more power than OBama

since in 22 years, Paul sponsored 620 bills and got ONE signed into law,,,thats a rate of about 28 bills per year and a .04 percent success rate

comparing to OBama who sponsored 121 bills as senator from 2005-2008 and had only 3 passed into law,,,thats a rate of about 40 bills per year and a 2 percent success rate

neither one are/were bigshots in terms of political power before they ran

That was misstated. He draws his salary only. Not the pension plan, not the bennies like vacation junkets the others enjoy at our expense. He's also never voted for the yearly raise the others vote for themselves.

Just to clarify for the person who posted that statement.

he could not make a living if he did that. What I think you are referring to is he did not charge those with federal insurance because he refused federal money, which is also admirable. HE still received money though, from the patients who could pay or had private insurance.

RP's bills never get passed because they are all against big government, for the people, and usually a repeal or amendment to something that has already been passed that he felt overstepped its constitutional limits.

Of course his bills never get passed. They call him "Dr No" because he votes against all the bills he feels are unconstitutional.... that should tell you something about our lawmakers in DC.
