Fox News is considered the most uncivil network by Americans, according to a new survey.

Weber Shandwick, Powell Tate and KRC Research polled 1,000 people in April for their annual "Civility In America" study. Thirty-five percent of participants said that Fox News is "uncivil," while 53% described it as "civil."

CNN and MSNBC fared slightly better. Thirty-one percent considered MSNBC "uncivil" and 49% "civil." Thirty-one percent of respondents thought CNN was "uncivil," and 53% "civil." PBS was considered most civil of the networks.

The results did not bode well for news outlets overall. "A considerable 62% called out the media as uncivil in this year’s survey," the study reported. "While this is considerably lower than last year’s incivility rating of 74%, it ranks among the top five most uncivil aspects of American life."

A whopping majority of people (82%) also believe that the media is more interested in controversy than facts, and 55% of respondents said that they were tuning out of "news coverage and reporting" due to incivility.

I think the study really needs to be bigger given the size of the USA.. though the press here is getting closely scrutinised, in particular the Murdoch corporation, in the Leveson enquiry, which came about from phone-hacking, (particularly sad is it came to light papers were hacking into an abducted and murdered child's phone, and this gave the parents hope they were still alive mad ).. It reaches all the way to the PM. The link to its website is below..

Murdock and his empire need to go! He can take Ted Turner with him on the way down!

Perhaps if an example is made, we may actually start getting investigative journalism again instead of bias propaganda!

Surveys and polls always slant left, no surprise there.

A "slant" in ANY direction is tipping the scales against the people!

Foxnews reminds me of big time wrestling all the hype of two grown men about to have a fake fight with the mindless fans booing and cheering.

A bit of hyperbole, it's impossible to prove "always". But typically, yes, polls and surveys lean left. The reason is that those on the right value their time too much to take polls and surveys.

Thats because most americans realy are left of center.

Ask them are you pro choice or no choice.
Do you believe in equal rights?
Do you think social security is good?
Do you enjoy the five day work week?
Do you think products should be labled for content?
Do you think worker safty laws are a good idea?
Child labor laws?

etc etc

Most of america is left of center even when they do not know it.

(I blame fox news for the confussion) laugh

I don't think any of us should watch any of it...
it's all controlled, the anchors can only talk about
what their told to talk about.

We don't get the truth from any of them....
ABC, NBC, MSMBC, CNN, etc.

They keep filling our heads with $hit to keep us divided....
seems to be working.

Its emberresing to me as an american if they are #1 simply because Fox news viewers are less informedand form opinions based on what they see on fox news.

67% of Fox viewers believed that the "U.S. has found clear evidence in Iraq that Saddam Hussein was working closely with the al Qaeda terrorist organization" (Compared with 56% for CBS, 49% for NBC, 48% for CNN, 45% for ABC, 16% for NPR/PBS).
The belief that "The U.S. has found Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq" was held by 33% of Fox viewers and only 23% of CBS viewers, 19% for ABC, 20% for NBC, 20% for CNN and 11% for NPR/PBS
35% of Fox viewers believed that "the majority of people [in the world] favor the U.S. having gone to war" with Iraq. (Compared with 28% for CBS, 27% for ABC, 24% for CNN, 20% for NBC, 5% for NPR/PBS)

They also believe that Mitt Robmney will be giving the middle class a fair break {wink-wink} when he gives big corporations and the wealthy a bigger tax break then they already have now when and if he becomes President of this here USA.
