I started taking care of my son's 2 cats when my son developed brain tumors. (And had to go in and out of hospitals for the past year.)...My son passed away in early Sept. And one of my son's cats ("Kitty") passed away 2 days ago...I'm sure "Kitty" wanted to join my son. But I sure miss her. (And I miss my son too!)..."Kitty" always reminded me of my son. They both got excited over simple little things in life. It was easy to make them happy!...I still have my son's other cat and 2 cats of my own. We're all in "mourning" right now.

Thanks..What are your cats like?...My son's cat "Kitty" thought all the cat carriers belonged to her. I left them all out and open and she had fun going in and out of her "caves" and "hide-aways!"...Everytime I went to get ice for my tea she rushed right over and cried at me. (Because she loved to have ice in her water.)..."Kitty" definitely knew "who she was" and what she "wanted!" I admired her. (Even though she drove me crazy at times.) So sad that she's gone now.

Thanks..What are your cats like

I raised them from the day they were born (never
had a cat before or been around any, they were
abandoned in my garage) because they selected me :-)

They have no idea they are cats, the few times they
have been outside they ran to play with the dogs in
the neighborhood, which really surprised the dogs
in the neighborhood, I can tell you.

They are now 9 years old, and they are my

I'm sorry about your loss. It is Melmacian custom not to eat cats that are in mourning. So, your remaining cats are safe.

Wow! Thanks to all of you! Thanks for caring and writing. And thanks for your support! It means a lot...I can't believe how "bad" I feel about "Kitty's" death...I feel like I let "Kitty" down and I let my son down too...Besides missing "Kitty" (like crazy) I am absolutely "racked" with guilt and remorse and "bad feelings" etc...It's just been me and the 4 cats for quite awhile now...I've tried to "be there" for all of them. I love all the cats!...But I've been under so much stress and worry about my son for a long time. And then he died...I didn't want "Kitty" or any of the cats to end-up dying too...Sometimes I feel like such a "bad mom" to my son and a "bad mom" to the cats too! ...I know I've tried! But right now I guess I probably need to cry a few "rivers" and maybe I'll be able to "heal" and forgive myself over time...Thanks for listening and letting me "bare my soul." Sorry! And thanks again for caring!

Help! I don't know why so many duplicate posts came up...Sorry!...I have 2 brother cats left. (From the same mom.) They turned 15 on April 26th..One of my "boys" is called "Silky." He's mostly white with a few black (and striped) "splatches."..He used to be my husband's cat and "faithful dog!" I worried that "Silky" might decide to "go" after my husband passed-away but he stuck around and became "my dog" too! (YEA!) He's always been the "protector" of the family...My other cat is "Little T." (He's a striped and fluffy tabby.)..He looked like another cat we loved (and lost) when he was small..We used to tell our cat (that died) that he was a "turkey" for dying and leaving us. (We said it in a playful way!)..Anyway "Little T" is short for "Little Turkey" since our new cat seemed exactly like the cat we lost..My husband didn't think it would be right to actually say "turkey" all the time when we called him or talked to him etc. (So we shortened his name to "Little T!")...Hope it's okay if I talk about my cats. Basically they are the only family I have left! More about my son's cats later. Thanks!

This brought tears to my eyes:cry: ....Don't ever think you were a bad mother or that you had anything to do with Kitty passing away or your son....

There are things in life we have no control of what happens. Both of these things did not have anything to do with who you are or what you have or have not done...This was all in God's hand.....

Instead, think of Kitty was so lonely for your son and him for her that God felt it was best to give each of them a companion back in order to heal the hurt they both have within their hearts... They are together now......Until you all meet again....they will be waiting for you....

TxsGal...Thanks for caring and helping me look at things from a different perspective...You're right. It was time for "Kitty" and my son to be reunited and together again!
