I'm guessing that something was lost in translation, so I am going to give a condensed version of how I understood the post.

Basically what I understood is that you think men who are 5, want to date a woman who is a 10(in your eyes) and that if they want to attract a 10, they need to make themselves more appealing to attract that 10.

If that is what you mean, I actually agree with you. I do think there is such a thing as "sex rank" or "leagues"

People generally date within their own "sex rank/league" However, if you want to date above your league than you need to get yourself into that league, before those women will pay you any attention at all.

Think about this way, if you are Brad Pitt, or Adam Levine, are you going to date the chubby girl down the road? or are you going to date the 10 that you know you are capable of getting?....now if that chubby girl loses a bunch of rate and is now smoking hot, and all friends are commenting you may date her, or you may not.

But before I get yelled at by a bunch of people for being shallow, let me give a female example.

If you are a female doctor, you've busted your *** to get to where you are at in your career, you own your own home, car, and basically just want a companion, are you going to date the Fat guy that lives at home with his mom, and works part-time at the local Starbucks so he has time to play video games? No you are not.

You are going to date the doctor, lawyer, or other professional man who is more in the same league you are in.

Most men are visual, and if you ask a man to rate a woman on a scale of 1-10 they will generally base it solely on her looks, and if she gave you her resume as well, it may not the change the rating all that much.

Most woman want more from a man than just looks, sure they could rate a man on just looks from 1-10 however, if you included his resume it may change that rating dramatically.

People date within their perspective ratings generally.

I can accept the old saying that money marries money. Movie stars are likely to marry movie stars, or other very rich people, but they represent a very small part of the general population. The ratings you refer to as 1 to 10 are OK for judging Miss World or Mr Universe, but have little to do with forming relationships in the real world in my opinion.

People choose partners for a whole variety of reasons, and your assertion that someone on a high income ( a doctor) would not marry someone on a low income (a waiter) is false in my opinion. Generally, people date/marry for many reasons, and ones more important than either of their incomes, just my opinion.

Its interesting to see women here defending mediocres and male chauvinists whose concept and value of women is debasing.Men who have a wrong notion that "there are many fishes in the sea" and that those fishes are cheap and should be preyed upon, used and dumped

I'm going to regret this.....but it doesn't surprise me that the women on here are defending mediocrity, because the women(and men) on here are probably mediocre by society's standards, so they are going to stand up for their own dating pool(mine included). Because honestly the 9's and 10's of the world aren't having trouble finding anyone, and they are most certainly not on a free-dating site.

Depends on what you describe as the 9 or 10's of this society! Personally, I think some of societies standards are messed up to the max! JMHO

I agree, Missy. Besides, beauty is soooo relative.drinker

I would say it is far more likely for a male doctor to marry a really hot waitress than it would be for a female doctor to marry a really hot male waitress(yes she may have sex with him, but probably won't be looking to settle down with him)

But that is because as I've stated in the beginning men typically rate women first on just appearance.

I agree there are many important reasons to marry, but my point with female doctor is that in order to get where she was at she had to have discipline and drive, and i'd be willing to bet those are two qualities would be at the top of the list and that she would want those qualities in a spouse, so the 'part-time' employee who wants to play video games isn't going to appeal to her no matter how attractive he may be.

A male doctor on the other hand, had to have discipline and drive as well, but i'd also bet that those two qualities wouldn't be at the top of his list for a spouse. There are many doctors married to 20yr blond bimbos that lay them like tile and they don't mind a bit that they have no drive.
