The question came up on another thread that guys see 'desperate' if a woman initiates conversation. What do men think of a woman who takes the initiative?

that would depend on what things for me. 1. the situation I.e online, in a grocery syore etc. and 2. the aggressiveness that the initiative hasbehind it. I.e how a strong does she come on to him

Nearly all of the conversations I've had since joining up a few weeks ago have been initiated by the Ladies. I certainly don't see 'desperate' when reading their messages. I think a lot would depend on the content of the message, the only ones I might call desperate, and they seem more pushy than desperate, are the scammers.

if one contacts me first,,,,i assume shes one of the mentally stable ones. the rest have confidence issues an you have to kiss up to them just to get there name. :P

If I waited for someone to initiate conversation with me, Id be waiting a very long time... Life is too short. Depends on the moment time. Of course it shouldn't be the woman all the time nor the man all the time. But equally showing interest in each other.
