catastrophic is by definition, RARE,,,,

some survive and some don't, and I don't personally believe there is anything that can be STOCKPILED enough to make that difference

in all cases, knowing the surroundings and using them, is what leads to survival,,,,

I think the end has been coming since the beginning

I think if its my time, its my time, so I'm not going through excessive measures to prepare for a potential war

Im more concerned my kids will die at the hands of another citizen than a war, so I prepare them to be aware of their surroundings and the company around them,,,,,,

and to expect and be prepared for adversity but hope for peace,,,,,,,

and to live lives they can look back on with a clear conscience whenever their time does come,,,,

Gee.... It would be something to see you telling that looter with a gun to your head that it "must be your time" and not worrying about it.... or as you are starving or dehydrating from thirst in the turmoil should you make it past the initial onslaught unprepaired.

Sure sounds like you have no idea of the nature of survival or have ever been thru a disaster of any kind! That's just foolish nonscence you spouted above...... PURE DRIVEL!

People become animals when the chips are down..... Katrina was just a TV movie to you it would seem.....

Natural disaster is bad enough, but it's usually over fairly quickly, covers a small area so others come to help or provide needed goods, and you can rebuild. War and conflict is a whole nother animal to deal with!

You will be the squirrel that didn't gather nuts for the winter, begging others to help when it sets in!

Foolishness is your enemy, not your friend! Volunteer for a disaster relief crew...... you'll change your mind! Maybe a visit to Gaza? It's not just TV entertainment!
im not a die hard prepper i can only do what i can to protect my children. and i would do what it takes and that is all i could ever do, i think if put in that situation i could think fast and get the job done. i don't think im foolish im just a citizen trying to get by, ( if something did happen) everyone here would be in the same boat because nobody is allowed guns etc. all i know is if anyone tried to take food that was meant for my kids i would be a force to be reckoned with. true ive never been in a fight or seen war or done any of that but neither have a lot of people. :)

“Worrying about scarcity is our culture’s version of post-traumatic stress. It happens when you’ve been through too much, and rather than coming together to heal (which requires vulnerability), we’re angry and scared and at each other’s throats.”

Very cute quote.

That's just on insignificant persons opinion.

To be concerned is NOT fear or paranoia.

I think prepping is a must regardless of the situation. Anything can throw your world into chaos. Self reliance should be the goal period. When things go bad on a grand scale, no one is really going to help you. You are on your own for the most part.

Things are going south daily these days.

Our govt no longer cares about the will of the people or their Constitutional rights, our shoot first, ask later police are being militarized against us (if we protest), they've taken our savings and our jobs, reduced us to worker bees for the corporations, turned their backs on our service men and women, propagandized our media, HELL, our POTUS (and other world leaders/Orgs as well) even lies to us and boasts daily how he will rule rather than lead our nation.

Folks, we're already there...... it won't take much of a straw to break the camels back!

There's a new Constitution and Internet already in place waiting for the next 9/11 and martial law.

Who do you think funds, arms, and trains the likes of Al Qaeda, ISIS and Hamas? Why is it the most powerful nations on earth can't (or won't) stop their rise?

People need an enemy to fear or they are harder to control!!

Who is the real enemy of the people? Who makes the laws? BIG GOVERNMENT!!! and the corporations that fund them! The media machine tells us who we should vote for, the corporations pay the bill, the banks provide them the money...... and the people pay for it all!

Eisenhauer warned us! Kennedy warned us! Hell, even Andrew Jackson warned us of the evil of banks/bankers!

Copied from another site

Anyone who's not heard of Senate Bill 2277 "the Russian Aggression Provocation (sic) Act (RAPA)" ought to get to know it and quick. Sponsored by Sen. Bob Corker, it is co-sponsored by twenty-six other senators, all Republicans. These are the men who would kill the world:

Sen Alexander, Lamar [TN] - 5/1/2014
Sen Ayotte, Kelly [NH] - 5/1/2014
Sen Barrasso, John [WY] - 5/1/2014
Sen Blunt, Roy [MO] - 5/1/2014

Sen Enzi, Michael B. [WY] - 5/6/2014
Sen Flake, Jeff [AZ] - 5/1/2014
Sen Graham, Lindsey [SC] - 5/1/2014
Sen Hatch, Orrin G. [UT] - 5/1/2014
Sen Hoeven, John [ND] - 5/1/2014
Sen Inhofe, James M. [OK] - 5/1/2014
Sen Isakson, Johnny [GA] - 5/1/2014
Sen Johnson, Ron [WI] - 5/1/2014
Sen Kirk, Mark Steven [IL] - 5/1/2014
Sen McCain, John [AZ] - 5/1/2014
Sen McConnell, Mitch [KY] - 5/1/2014
Sen Portman, Rob [OH] - 5/1/2014
Sen Risch, James E. [ID] - 5/1/2014
Sen Roberts, Pat [KS] - 5/1/2014
Sen Rubio, Marco [FL] - 5/1/2014
Sen Thune, John [SD] - 5/1/2014
Sen Toomey, Pat [PA] - 5/6/2014
Sen Vitter, David [LA] - 5/6/2014

For, S.2277 is breath-taking in the audaciously aggressive actions it would take to provoke Russia into an immediate military countermeasure.

Steven Starr's article on S.2277 makes one shudder as to the consequences for world peace:http://www.globalresearch.ca/the-russian-aggression-prevention-act-rapa-a-direct-path-to-nuclear-war-with-russia/5397171

One of the most shocking parts is this: "The Russian Aggression Prevention Act, or RAPA, Provides major non-NATO ally status for Ukraine, Georgia, and Moldova for purposes of the transfer or possible transfer of defense articles or defense services. Major non-NATO ally status would for practical purposes give NATO membership to these nations, as it would allow the US to move large amounts of military equipment and forces to them without the need for approval of other NATO member states. Thus RAPA would effectively bypass long-standing German opposition to the US request to make Ukraine and Georgia part of NATO."

This violates the NATO charter, which demands that only NATO members may receive this kind of treatment. And NATO members such as Germany and France have been wary of treading toward former Soviet Republics that were long-time parts of the historical Russia state, such as Ukraine and Moldova and Georgia, and all of which have or have had armed separatist conflicts within their borders -- another clear violation of the NATO charter.

But RAPA is not NATO. It is the diktat of the U.S. military industrial complex. Starr confirms this:

"RAPA would accelerate the implementation of phase three of the European Phased Adaptive Approach for Europe-based missile defense . . . by no later than the end of calendar year 2016. In 2012, Russia’s highest ranking military officer stated that Russia might consider a pre-emptive strike against such BMD deployments when the situation gets harder."

Furthermore, "RAPA would have the U.S. quickly supply Ukraine with$100 million worth of weapons and equipment, including anti-tank and anti-aircraft weapons, crew weapons, grenade launchers, machine guns, ammunition, and Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles."

Most terrifying of all, RAPA contains a definitive timed ultimatum for war -- the first since World War II:

"The Russian Aggression Prevention Act demands that Russia withdraw from the eastern border of Ukraine, which is by definition, the Russian border. In other words, RAPA provocatively demands that Russia remove its own military forces away from its own borders, while Ukrainian military forces are meanwhile massed on the other side, attacking predominantly Russian cities."

Starr concludes,

"RAPA therefore provides both military and political support for Ukrainian President Poroshenko’s stated goat that Ukraine will retake Crimea. This goal was recently echoed by the Ukrainian defense minister, who was applauded by the Ukrainian Parliament when he told them that the Ukrainian army will have a victory parade in Sevastopol. These statements are taken seriously in Moscow, where they are viewed as a promise to attack Russia."

I personally was in Sevastopol on vacation for a few days last week (August 12-15, 2014). While strolling on the main boulevard toward Nakhimov Square, I came to a war memorial to the Afghanistan dead with a tank in front of it. Some boys were playing atop it. My wife called out to them, "Boys! Will you fight for Sevastopol?" The nine and ten year old boys gleefully shouted, "YES! We will defend our city from the enemy, like our grandfathers did!" She asked, "Which enemy?" They shouted back, "ANY enemy who will try to attack!"

With that in mind, Starr informs us that

"RAPA also demands that Russian forces must have withdrawn from Crimea within SEVEN days of the enactment of the Act."

...Within SEVEN DAYS. Do you know what that is?

It is a timed note, whose expiry means war. Possibly nuclear war, for which the entire planet should pay with its combined lives.

The gigantic question is, for what purpose does this ferocious antagonism serve? None. There is no American interest AT ALL in this lethal game. There are big business concerns in extracting the wealth of Ukraine and removing it to the west, and, of course, all the money that must be spent to prepare for global war -- and prosecute it. But there is nothing that the American people would consider of vital and strategic interest.

In fact, in all of history, there is no example of a more disinterested people being flung headlong into a war -- not even Britain's sudden, unexpected guarantee to Poland in 1939, which was promptly sacrificed first to Nazi savagery for five years and then Soviet domination for forty years without apology or recompense.

And, when one considers it: Provoking the largest stockpile of nuclear weapons in the world to action is in no human beings' interest.

Who gets the luxuries of fortified and stocked underground bunkers, a military guard, and first alert when the SHTF?

HINT:......It won't be you and me!

Putin may be a lot of things, but never think him an idiot.... or a "push-over"!

Obozo and this congress? rofl What a joke! A very sad and scary joke of bankers, CEOs and millionaires who have never viewed conflict except via satelite or airplane window!!

Our "I first saw and heard about it on the news" POTUS! slaphead and the people bought it! what idiots!

honestly, all the mudslinging aside

people are struggling to survive the REALITY Of TODAY, keeping their gas and electricity and food and shelter and transportation paid for

few of them worried with getting through to TOMORROW are gonna focus on getting through some hypothetical future global war,,,,,

none here, that I know of

has someone here made the claim that GOD HIMSELF told them he would be destroying the world sometime in the foresseable future?

Id think Facebook would be a better venue for them to get the word out, if HE has,,,lol

I have read the bible where no one can know the time

it could happen WHILE IM trying to prepare
it could happen CENTURIES After IM dead
it could happen after those non perishables have perished,,lol

but whats much more LIKELY to happen, is tomorrow(and even that's not guaranteed) and I do try my best to 'prep' for it,,,,

I don't believe in god. I don't put faith in mythical beings to guide my life. When he starts paying the bills, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

What I do believe in is science and history. Items that do exist, contain knowledge and lessons best learned from, and the evil that men do and has been proven as fact.

Only a fool doesn't learn from history. Noah was a man who foresaw a great flood..... recorded history in writings.... in those days many things were "miracles" that men had no concept of, so they were credited to "Gods".....MANY gods. There were gods for everything unexplainable!

Read the history of the catholic church and tell me that an "all loving, all forgiving god" had anything to do with that mess! The Crusades, the Inquistion, Salem Witch Hunts, even the destruction by the Conquistadors over the Incas and Aztecs, the destruction of a whole culture and population of people.... not for GOD, but for GOLD! Guess the pope left out a letter in that word for the original blessing..... to be added later.... OR.... it was the Gold they worshipped in the 1st place!

Religion is just another form of control. Like anything, it has it's good points and works for some..... usually, those at the top..... just like any form of governance.

You may as well believe in a stone. Living a good and decent life, under any illusion called religion, is not a promise of reward or we wouldn't be having this conversation.

You believe in a mythical being, but not history, the cycles of civilization, and the evil of man, even as it repeats itself...... amazing! Bet you wonder why too.......

wow, the tangents of all tangents

I believe in things that make sense to me

some 'science' fits and some doesn't

I believe history teaches a lot about the capabilities of men to affect each other and their surroundings

Free will and mens ego have EVERYTHING to do with most mess

Id rather have 'control' than 'chaos', though in the middle of the the continuum from one extreme to the other is a BALANCE that I seek out in life

believing in religion doesn't have to be a promise of reward, but if there is a reward,, what was lost by believing?

I do believe in history,, even the first sentence I wrote here is now a part of 'history',, time exists, so obviously 'history' does too

I believe in humans living in different times and different geographical locations leading to different types of 'civilizations'

I believe men can commit 'evil' things and 'kind' things and billions of people will repeatedly do such things till the end of time

nothing AMAZING here,, except the belief that any of the above has to do with whether or not one decides to prep for some potential doomsday,,,lol

An ounce of prevention......

The 2000 year cycle is upon us. Govt's are rushing to the "End of Days"... Call it what you want....the Illuminati, the Anti-Christ, it's all hogwash.....just history repeating itself!

Hilter thought he would be the one....believed he was, followed the mystical path in his belief.... and that belief is alive and well yet today!

There is no such thing as savings anymore, at least no profit to it. Your money is worth less tomorrow than it is today. The economy will collapse, and soon! It's in the news every day!

You might call it "the End Times"....or Revelations... but it is upon us.....history repeating itself! ....Global depopulation.... just let the animals kill themselves then come out of their bunkers offering something new....like Noah and his Ark..... if there's a world left after this one!

Change is coming Ms squirrel.... you had best start gathering your nuts!
