I am not happy with my weight/shape. I know I am to lose weight for no one else but for myself.

I'm getting older and have let myself go and just can't bring myself to workout anymore. I know I can if I put my mind to it...it's just I don't want to anymore. Depressed or just unmotivated?
I feel I need someone to pull my butt off the couch.

Anybody else feel this way? Thoughts? I know I've received (and tried) all kinds of suggestions (other than meds :P )....

"All About That Bass"

Because you know
I'm all about that bass
'Bout that bass, no treble
I'm all about that bass
'Bout that bass, no treble
I'm all about that bass
'Bout that bass, no treble
I'm all about that bass
'Bout that bass

Yeah, it's pretty clear, I ain't no size two
But I can shake it, shake it
Like I'm supposed to do
'Cause I got that boom boom that all the boys chase
And all the right junk in all the right places

I see the magazine workin' that Photoshop
We know that **** ain't real
C'mon now, make it stop
If you got beauty building, just raise 'em up
'Cause every inch of you is perfect
From the bottom to the top

Yeah, my mama she told me don't worry about your size
She says, "Boys like a little more booty to hold at night."
You know I won't be no stick figure silicone Barbie doll
So if that's what you're into then go ahead and move along

Because you know I'm
All about that bass
'Bout that bass, no treble
I'm all about that bass
'Bout that bass, no treble
I'm all about that bass
'Bout that bass, no treble
I'm all about that bass
'Bout that bass
Hey!

I'm bringing booty back
Go ahead and tell them skinny ******* that
No I'm just playing. I know you think you're fat
But I'm here to tell ya
Every inch of you is perfect from the bottom to the top

Yeah my mama she told me don't worry about your size
She says, "Boys like a little more booty to hold at night."
You know I won't be no stick figure silicone Barbie doll
So if that's what you're into then go ahead and move along

Because you know I'm
All about that bass
'Bout that bass, no treble
I'm all about that bass
'Bout that bass, no treble
I'm all about that bass
'Bout that bass, no treble
I'm all about that bass
'Bout that bass

Because you know I'm
All about that bass
'Bout that bass, no treble
I'm all about that bass
'Bout that bass, no treble

'Bout that bass, no treble
I'm all about that bass
'Bout that bass, no treble

'Bout that bass
'Bout that bass, 'bout that bass
Hey, hey, ooh
You know you like this bass

Unfortunately I don't have a bass...it's a flat. I'm more top-heavy.

The only person who can motivate you IS you.
The only reason you have no time is because you do not CREATE time.

If you have time for TV then you have time to workout.
If you have time to chat on the phone then you have time to workout.
If you have the time to surf the web then you have time to workout.

There's TONS of options to chose from. Many in home workout programs that are only 30 min sessions over the course of 3 months.

I have a fitness group on facebook with 20+ people, feel free to join!!

No meds but natural, food that promotes weight loss. Regular exercise (swimming, biking, jogging, walking). Jogging every morning increases lifespan. Oatmeal for breakfast. No heavy meal after 5pm. Citrus fruits, juice. Veggies and fruits. No fried foods.

Perhaps finding an activity companion would help? Some people who quit coming to gym alone came back with a friend and begun working out more frequently. It seems to work.

Or maybe a change of an activity? If you do not enjoy weight lifting, why not consider swimming or volley ball instead?

Get some personal training sessions so that you learn the correct technique at the gym, and they'll push you more than when you are working out alone.
Or... Like they said find a partner to go with :)all the best for your fitness journey x

You've made your first step, congrats, you've admitted it's a problem, diet,do some googling I guess, and experiment on what works for YOU,and avoid the foods that are obviously NOT good for you,but know that everything they say is good isn't always good for YOU,exercise work out whatever, the things that really important here are being consistent, and not doing heavy lifting if it it's weight lifting, intensity, for about 1/2hour,keep increasing it slowly, and remember, with your diet and exercise,MIX IT UP,,,do this and always gather knowledge but be wise on how you use it,oh and search the blood type diet ,also, seem to make sense to me,never really been over weight so ,can't say it actually works, just makes sense to me,good luck!

I think a good start is to get one those baby pusher thing with the bicycle wheels, and as often as you can ,go out for long brisk whalks,if you got a park near by that should be great, rather than to much in the streets ECT,watch your diet ,and being motivated, you've got find what motivates YOU,'good luck!

Start with a better diet, you will lose weight without working out.

I agree with this because it is working for me. this and setting achievable goals.
I'm a put your money where your mouth is kind of person. people at work put together a weight loss challenge.
I joined mostly to prove a point to my coworker. the first goal I set was not a number on the scale, but rather to fit into a particular dress I have.

I stopped drinking sodas and started drinking water. I started eating healthier foods. that alone contributed to losing 8 pounds so far and being able to wear one clothing size smaller.
now I have a new goal and that's a jeans skirt that was too cute to get rid of.

nomindgames says get an activity partner. a supportive group definitely does help. at work, we're all talking mess to each other, good natured trash talk because many of us are competing, but we remind each other to keep trying.
I publicly committed myself to this by posting on Facebook what my goal is and to make myself accountable, I post a brief weekly update after weigh in day. good luck on your endeavor.
