Obama's attorney general pick is change of style, not substance

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama on Saturday picked Brooklyn federal prosecutor Loretta Lynch to be the next U.S. attorney general, signaling a change in style but a continuation of the law enforcement priorities the administration has pursued.

If confirmed, Lynch, 55, would be the first black woman to serve in the post, bringing with her a family history that stretches back generations to great-great-grandparents who were slaves.

Obama said he hoped the Senate would not delay in confirming Lynch, who he said had distinguished herself as tough and fair in her two stints as the U.S. attorney in the Eastern District of New York.

Lynch would replace Eric Holder, the first black attorney general, who has held the job since Obama took office in 2009. She was among several candidates Holder had recommended to succeed him.

Obama's selection of Lynch is a departure from his tendency to put candidates with whom he has a long personal history into top jobs. It is the first major personnel change he has announced since Republicans won control of the Senate in congressional elections on Tuesday. Holder said in September that he planned to step down.

Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell, who is slated to become majority leader, said Lynch should be considered by the new Republican-controlled body next year.

"Ms. Lynch will receive fair consideration by the Senate. And her nomination should be considered in the new Congress through regular order," he said in a statement.

I wonder if the other non-black candidates received fair consideration
from Obolla?

She is one of the Fuhrer's most controversial pics yet. He is trying to force her through before Republicans take office in January because he knows they wont let these criminals and racists get appointed anymore.

The Fuhrer is self destructing.

If Loretta Lynch is qualified for the job of A.G., then her skin color is irrelevant.

Personally, I wonder if any men were considered.

Oh, wait...President Obama is looking for a qualified Attorney General.

huh So, you are saying that Eric Holder was never qualified because he is a man.

laugh

Anyway, it is ridiculous to criticize President Obama's pick because that person happens to be black.

I don't know of anything controversial about Loretta Lynch, and know of no evidence that she is a racist or a criminal.

Thus, I conclude that Obama Derangement Syndrome is being displayed.

as much as every non black who held that position and other positions.

Just the fact that she is only the second Black to hold that position clearly suggests that non white candidates rarely get fair consideration.

jury is out

'partner' is a strong accusation, however Bush old friend James Bath was an agent of the bin laden invesetments and did invest money into the failed Bush Project,,,, 'Arbusto'

Bath denies it was saudi money, but his ex partner insists he didnt have his own money to invest and admitted to him it was saudi money

,,,noone but those involved knows the truth, regarding WHOSE money was invested,,, but it was invested in name at least by Bath,,,

http://www.911myths.com/index.php/Bush-bin_Laden_family_links

just adding food for thought, cause I dont share the 'guilty by ANY association' philosophy,,,

Regardless of her qualifications, if Ms. Lynch was selected because she was black then the choice is racist. ... And what's the chance of that?
