.. how long is the line at your Walmart.. you know when you're going through the checkout...

.. I live in Canada.. we have Walmarts..
.. these big superstore chains..
with approximately 30 to 40 checkout counters... but sure as there is fuzz on a peach.... every time I go into one..... the only have maybe 5 or 6 check out's open.... even on a Saturday... when they're extremely busy.... 6or 7 check outs open only...
.. is it just here in my city ... or has any one else come across this issue...

.. why do they have 30 check outs... if they never use them.... yes feel free to rag on Walmart... I love to waste their CEOs time.. make him stand in line up all day... to buy my goods..

Lmao just went to Walmart last night on the way home from work.... Actually got lucky found a line with no one in it... But they are bad about not having enough cashiers... Normally there is maybe 2-3 ahead of me in line...

Heck there are 5 Walmarts within 10 minutes of my house believe it or not.... slaphead

.. its not a Christmas rush.. issue..
.. it's Walmart's lack of providing service... hack all the big box stores..
fall..in the department of providing service... when I was a young boy..
gas stations had gas jockeys..
. oh hang on to your hats. boys and girls... yes a gas jockey.. you would pull up! they would come to your window... how much gas would you like today ma'am or sir... and do you need your oil checked... I noticed your rear tire is a little low... I will add more air for you..... then they would put your gas in your car... check your oil.. add pressure to that low tire..
and even clean your window... in the time it took to put the gas in your car...... and with a smile on their face....
...ohh.. and if that is hard for you to believe....
.. when we went to the grocery store as a young boy... they had a person standing at the end of the checkout... each checkout...... We called them a bag boy.. okay person..lol... they would bag your groceries as they came . from the cashier... and not only that... but can you believe!!.. they would even take them to your car for you.... I know crazy isn't it...lol..
.. Walmart get your act together..
. you should be ashamed a giant corporation like you... what would Sam what would the founding fathers think.... of the way you were treating your customers..... surely you cannot think we are all just cogs in a wheel....

Yea well we use to have full service gas stations when I was a kid... Don't see them anymore..

As far as Walmart they feel that since you are getting things cheaper and the fact you can go in one store and buy anything from meat to paint they are saving you... Therefore you bag your own grocery's and take them to your car yourself.. Even check yourself out if you prefer too..

There are still grocery stores here that still bag your grocery's and take them to your car here.. But you are going to pay for that privilege with higher prices...

But as you said most of the Walmart's are busy busy cause everyone has found it convenient to go to one store, and get anywhere from food to automotive stuff when needed...

Really?? This is Walmart. Have you been living under a rock No1?? Sam Walton doesn't care. It was him who instituted this kind of shopping experience (and employee experience...) It is called the Walmart Mentality and business everywhere are following his business model. Service decline, and corporate greed. You ARE a cog in his world...wait do cogs cost money...then you are a rock...or even dirt. But dirt with money. So stand in that line Mr Shopper. And stand you will because you want the cheapest price for everything from food to automotive...

Does it show that I am not a fan...really? ...'cause I tried to tone it down...lmao

 Exactly !!...Plus, when you employ 2.2 million people world wide and you are the largest PRIVATE employer in the United States, you really don't have to worry about the little things like how long your customers must wait in line or how little you pay your employees or how chitty your benefit package is...If you don't like the rules at Walmart, don't shop there....

cheap that is truly how they win you over... when did cheap.. become synonymous with lack of service..
.... Campbell Soup.. look how small a can of soup as become... soup used to be cheap.. and plentiful...
. now it is expensive.. An you get less in a can... they say it is more concentrated.... sure how do you pack more flavor into a carrot and potato....wtf..... it just means less metal for them... in the production of the can... they can ship more... is all about the pennies for these guys... we worry about the dollars... they concentrate on there pennies....
.... they have become very efficient.. at squeezing a nickel out of a penny...
.... I would love to shove that Penny up their tight....hmmm...pg..lol

Do you have a lack of reading comprehension for your own thought formulation in writing, no1?

Tell me. THE only time that EVERYONE sees ALL checkout lines open at Walmart is Christmas time rush shopping.

My answer still stands. Derp.

Pretty soon they will get rid of cans and sell soup from plastic bags but they will charge 4 pennies more...I meant $4 more.

..fleta...hi.... it's the weekend.. hope all of you have a good one..

.. and personally myself.. nope not even during Christmas rush.. I have never seen a Walmart with all cash registers working... never not once...
.. the lineups will be 50 deep.... and they won't open another cash register..... not only that but the training their cashiers receive.... is more on how to work the cash register... and to keep house hold products separate from produce....

... I was in line the other day... I think Wednesday evening... maybe six registers going.... each register had at least 30 people waiting in line..... I was 2 away from getting up to the cash register... then a very young supervisor opened up another cash register beside me.... and waved me over..... we were all just chatting about the line up while we we're in line... it's the popular conversation to have in the lineup... with strangers...lol... but anyways this supervisor... was very efficient... lightning fast..... I said to him.. you should be the one training all of the cashiers.... his first comment was.. I don't speak Filipino are ... any other foreign languages... that the rest of these cashiers speak.. and then he said.. this is why Im..no longer a cashier I was too efficient... they made me a supervisor....

180 people waiting to check-out whoa ...i don't think i've ever seen that in any Wal-mart anywhere, and we got some big ones in texas...and i've never heard of any cashiers that couldn't speak the language of the local customers....could it be you're exaggerating again...???

I have an idea for you to try.

Build yourself a department store and give it 30 cash-registers that are manned by cashiers 24/7 regardless of the amount of business that your store may have. Now, see how long you remain in business.

In any retail business, work schedules are made 1-to-2 weeks in advance, based on a forecast of how busy that store will be 1-to-2 weeks in the future.

Yet, customers don't shop according to a business forecast. Customers can show up en masse unexpectedly, which causes the problem that you have described.

Add to that situation the problem of workers not showing up for their scheduled shift and workers quitting after the schedule has been made.

Also add to that situation the desire for instant gratification of Westerners who have become spoiled by the lifestyle that affluent societies provide them.

Plenty of Westerners don't budget their time in order to accommodate for a long wait anywhere. Plus, they often think that supply should immediately increase whenever demand immediately increases.
