Tee hee...I am the queen of budgeting.. ...one of my many talents. .lol...when ever my kids or friends fall behind I draw them up a budget and if they stick to it they can stay on top of the bills and still have a little for themselves...my worst problem with money is after I pay my bills I wind up giving the rest to everyone else..slaphead ..hmmm...maybe I should budget giving money into my budget and I to could have a little cash for me..biggrin
.. yes you have to remember to look after yourself first..
.. budget for a rainy day.. your savings is not a disposable income..
..or a piggy bank for your friends and family...
you are just too generous and caring.. which is good.!..
but you need to look after you first.... remember..
I think we had this conversation....lol..hi.u..flowerforyou waving

that is good to hear..

.. just stay on task. remember your goal.... and how to say no.
.. you cannot solve everyone else's financial problems.. for them..
by simply giving them money..
... it sets a precedent. for them.

.. if she bailed me out once she may bail me out again.. its called tough love....... but just for future reference.
. this type of love does not apply to me..... unless we're talking spanking..lol... big hug back..

What people needed yesterday people still need tomorrow (not wants). Is the U.S. not buying oil from OPAC again which is at a lower cost.

Markets rise and fall all the time, but something tells me it is the average/fixed income people whom big business wants there money. The business cycle has been the same for decades and will continue to function the same way. As for a global recession it is not going to happen unless a new super power is going to rise at the same time.

Observe how many business (big) are owned in the U.S. by other countries. How many investors and other big business are investing in those countries. It is a trade off to balance global markets to create stability.

.. do you live on a budget.?
. and how do you stick within your budget.?

.. with the price of oil dropping dramatically.. I fear a recession is on the way.. perhaps a global recession..

.. so I'm saying goodbye to my free spending ways.....
... do you have any budgeting tips or ideas....

... besides cut back on the Kleenex..lol
Used to, but don't worry about the cost of things anymore, after my mortgage was paid off. Things are good nowadays!

Ok .. No.1 .. Here is your budget ...

No expensive night bottoms

No scotch

No cigarettes

No viagara

No Kleenex

Laughing .. Wow I should be a budget advisor :-)
Bollocks to all that Blondey! Try running your own business and you'll maybe get to where i am these days through sheer hard work, that's all. Just lucky i can afford to spoil my family these days, but it wasn't always that way! flowerforyou

the budget was for no.1 ... And actually you wouldn't last one day doing my job . Being self employed doesn't give you any greater entitlement or reward .. You know nothing about me ... where I am in life .. What kind of life I live . You know what you can do with your bollocks .. Right :-)
Well you took that the wrong way but f**k it, i couldn't give a hoot about what your job is. Try working construction sites in all sorts of weathers then tell me you have a hard job ok? For where i am in life? Happy, that's all!!

try switching off life support .. holding a dying child and putting them in a body bag to take to the morgue .. Hard work doesn't necessarily equate to manual labour . I hope you continue being happy in life tim :-)

That is reason to keep buying the scotch.

..... yes I myself am not exactly collecting food stamps yet..lol.... but with this pending recession... it does not hurt to tighten up the belt strap..... and I myself am self-employed
I agree it is a lot of hard work.. and a lot of personal sacrifices..
.. plus a great deal of luck.... meeting the right people at the right time... I have always been grateful for and appreciative.. of my success.. and economic.. comfort that comes with it..
.. but I never.. put that above other people...
.... if I did I would not have a staff...
... without the guys pushing the shovels and the brooms
.. I would not have .. success... thinking your position in life somehow makes you better than others... I am sure you did not mean to offend blondie..... I know how hard construction can be... but then again it's not exactly brain surgery either.... now back on the topic..lol..

actually I don't take Viagra..lol
.. and Scotch is more of a ..hmm..
. let's call it a medication.. therefore it is a claimable..tax write off..lol..

. I am in the process of quitting smoking.. which is a $200 savings a month by the way... I know crazy..lol

... and my night bottom... well its that or I have to sleep naked... take your pick...lol..

... and I will cut back to 1 ply Kleenex..

..... personally I am finding.... my grocery budget needs to be streamlined..... my entertainment budget really needs to be cut back...
.... and I'm going to shop around for a better insurance .. broker.....

.. my household fixed costs... well I guess there's only so much you can do..... I tried burning wood.. to offset my heating bill.. but by the time I factored in the cost of wood.. and the times I had to use my furnace.... it actually cost me more to heat my house...lol... just can't catch a break..

I think you are doing the right thing ...

My favourite book (a very thin tome) on personal finances is "The Richest Man in Babylon" which is written in the form of a collection of parables.

Basically ALWAYS pay yourself first by saving away a small% that you do not touch and then live within your means on the rest.

Key is that your small nest egg will COMPOUND with time. They say that compound interest is the greatest force in the universe.

If it works against you, in the form of debt, you will come a cropper ...

So make it work FOR YOU ...

All the best and Good Luck ...

.. yes you should always pay yourself..
easy to say hard to do... I tend to invest... my savings in precious . well semi precious metals.. like silver..lol

.. and... it helps if you cut up your visa and credit cards... now the banks..
would prefer you did not do...this.
.. because their whole system is built on.. you paying them interest....

.... and if you are on a fixed income..
... even paying off two or three thousand dollars of credit....
.. can be very difficult..

.... so for all you young boys and girls out there.. credit cards are not your friend... one.. small limit card for emergencies only.... cash is king..
always has been always will be..
well until they devaluate.. your cash..

.. that's why I like.. precious metals.
