Topic: Where is the Marriage Forum?

Dating is so disrespectful, it's like using someone for some temporary pleasure with no commitment. I can't see the purpose of grown ups dating on a forum, unless they're just bored with their husband/wife. I can see why people would want to be lovers in real life, but not to date, that's childish or else innocent internet fun. Is there something I'm not getting?

How is dating disrespectful? Would you rather a man propose the first time you meet?

When you buy an outfit do you try it on? To check the fit? OR do you trust the tag and buy it?,

Dating can serve many purposes, to get to know someone to see if you're compatible, to see if "tag" is lying, to reveal how one reacts/interacts with their surroundings.....

For example, a date I was on awhile back, my date was EXTREMELY rude to our waitress...She had this "i'm better than her" attitude and needless to say that was a our first and last date...she never understood why, and frankly I didn't care enough to tell her.

Peoples TRUE personalities ultimately come out, sure you can hide them at first "put your best foot forward" but eventually, when the other person needs to move, that other foot steps forward, and you just HOPE it doesn't look like the one in Mr. Deeds...

So the purpose of dating, is to find out what that other figurative foot holds.

"When you buy an outfit do you try it on? To check the fit? OR do you trust the tag and buy it?,"

What a funny way to talk about human beings.

No matter how much you date you will never know the other person, this is true even you are married to that person for the rest of your life.

Anyway, love is more about accepting someone for who they are, not sending them back to the factory and treating them as a defective.

And why so much focus on the dating part of the marriage process, this is a clue that marriage is not what it's all about on here. Even the name of the place says mingle...does that mean make groups instead of pairing off?

There is not even a place to talk about marriage, we can only talk about dating/relationships. That's why I wondered if it's intended for cheaters or wannabe cheaters.

i think you should change your name to Debbie Downer
why are you so negative about everything ?

any who

takes all kinds to make a world

for me i come here to have better chances at finding a single lady that i can spend the rest of my life with

unlike real life you have a lot better chance at finding a single person here (since it takes that right place at the right time in real life you could miss them by a couple min's)
and it's not like the have a sign in real life that says they are single

online i have a easier chance of running away from the crazy ones

as far as the dating is so disrespectful , i would say you have run in to the wrong type of people
the lady i was dating here for all most 6 months and we broke up ... we are still friends <shrug> i wasn't a fan of being ignored for all most 3 weeks (she said it was a test ..that none of her past boyfriends had past..gee i wonder why lol... no idea really)

as far as the rest of your comment, you get a chance to meet and are at ease cause you are safe from harm and have a chance to get to know the person better , before you even meet them

as far as being childish ... guess you get what you give

and i agree with isaac_dede
its easy to wear a mask , but they slip over time : )

any who wish you best wishes on your hunt Estelle79

Oh, silly me I haven't been reading my mail..why don't these guys come out and propose to us on the public forum? No pride perhaps?? Maybe it's so they won't get caught asking multiple women the same thing?

So in other words, you should just accept and love all men whether or not they are "cowards"....

So what i'm reading is women are allowed to have a particular view of what kind of man they want, but a man on the other hand has to accept a women "just as is" and has no right to try to find one that he wants?....

Hmm interesting

I'm still relatively new here and I never fit in with all the chit chat. No real conversations here between men and women. I see a lot of flirts and I wonder if that is the main purpose of this site.

mingle to me means , get out there and get to meet people
does not mean cheat or disrespect , etc etc as you mentioned

I think every time you go on a date on mingle not that I have as it only takes about 20 mins to decide I would be wasting my time with the men I seem to attract on here lol, your taking a risk because they could be totally the wrong fit seriously the wrong fit. so what im saying is dating needs to happen because if you did end up getting hitched to someone from here without dating you could be making the biggest mistake of your life and your stuck with it.

Because i can see where this is going to go..."women aren't objects to be bought"....I'll change my analogy

When you are adopting a puppy for the pound to you just pick one at random and walk out? do you ask the shelter any questions?

For example,
How is he/she with other dogs?, Are they good around children? How much exercise does this breed need? Does this Breed shed?...all of these questions are designed to see if the home and the dog are a good fit together...

Some questions, depending on the home may not matter to one person, but will to another...For example "Are they good with other dogs?" may not be relevant to a person who doesn't have other dogs, but it is really relevant to a person who has a household full of other dogs.

The purpose of dating is to see if their is a MUTUAL match, I may not want to have kids, but if that is all my date talks about, then i know we aren't compatible for the long run...it would cause tension down the line....

Yes you won't every FULLY know a person, but you can find out from a few questions whether or not initially you are a good match FOR EACH OTHER

Dating, is the time period, in which we get to know a partner...
Before, doing something as foolish, as marrying a person we don't really know.

I still think there should be a marriage forum on here. Where adults can talk about serious matters. Then we can leave the dating forum to the guys who want to talk about dating only.

some people marry and then they learn to love each other, like arranged marriage but that in itself is a big risk to.
