Redistribution due to making unfair business practices fair, such as foreign banks hiding millions of dollars of wealthy clients' money from the IRS so they won't have to pay taxes...fairness in regulations is a democratic capitalist system, not socialist.

And once again, you promote punishment of the successful, resulting in economic oppression, as a means of attaining economic freedom. You're making no sense

Economic freedom should be attainable for all. In order to achieve this, a government must create and implement laws that are in agreement with it's citizens. What makes it fair is keeping each other in check and within that there can be a free capitalist system. I think the problem is we have had a free global economy and governments are having a hard time trying to make it more fair.

Wait a minute you don't believe in paying taxes? You are the one coming up with these strange ideas. I offered an idea about a democratic capitalist system. Yes, there would be constraints like you can't just go and print your own money for a living and call it a hard days work.

How did the United States ever function and become the dominant world economy before 1913 when the income tax (which Woodrow Wilson promised would never exceed 3%, by the way) was imposed. Did have no roads, schools, and services? Yeah, we had all of that. The IRS is a corrupt, thuggish arm of the government insists that you are guilty until proven innocent. We don't need the highest corporate tax rate and a punitive income tax.

Thanks to Obama's lip service in an effort to GAIN VOTES AND WIN ELECTIONS, many people wrongly fear the growing gap between the rich and the less rich...Obama likes to suggest that the growing wealth at the top is what prevents those at the bottom from improving their standard of living...His solution to the problem is redistribution of wealth...He wants to accomplish this by raising minimum wage, taxing top earners and instituting more and bigger federal programs...While true that this is one way to redistribute the nations wealth, it is just as true that these methods will not alleviate poverty OR pump up the middle class because INCOME INEQUALITY IS NOT THE PROBLEM, RICH GETTING RICHER DOES NOT MAKE POOR POORER...When wealth is created at the top, everybody gains...Government intervention is not the solution...Our track record proves this...It's not like we don't have the past to draw from...All anyone has to do is look at the history of federal programs to see that they are not only failing to address the problem, they are making it worse!...Raising minimum wage would result in the loss of an estimated 500,000 jobs belonging to current minimum wage earners...What that means is those now earning $7.25 an hour will get to earn ZERO dollars an hour!...Also over half those earning minimum wage are NOT HEADS OF HOUSEHOLDS, they are teens and young adults...Higher taxes on top earners only manages to take money out of the economy...WHAT DOES WORK is economic freedom and business enterprise...Without these two things, people will always be trapped in poverty...For anyone who you wants income equality, stop bellyaching, get educated and put that education to work...

Similarly the very rich have been getting away with not paying their share of taxes. If you look up to them and down on the poor, like it's ok to commit white collar crime but not blue collar crime. You say freedom and more freedom so why have any laws at all? Or are laws just for the poor? Freedom only for the middle class and the rich? Is this your ideal capitalism view? This is like a fascist capitalist view.

But in your ideal system is it ok to tax the rich? Or do you consider that to be too unfair?

Of course it's ok to tax the rich...No, I don't consider it unfair to tax the rich...Do you think it's unfair to tax middle and low income earners?...

I think it's always fair to tax everyone, only problem is the poor can't afford it but middle class sure.
As it is the middle class pays too much and the rich not enough and the poor don't get enough support. That's where I stand.

Can you show me how the middle class pays too much and the rich not enough?..

I've explained this on the other thread. Can we keep the economic discussion here? That was about something else and the discussions are getting redundant.

I would have to do some research to show what I already know.
While the millionaires become billionaires the middle class are starting to need food stamps. Easy to see something isn't right. I have also read the news the other day about the rich hiding their money in Swiss banks and the IRS is after them.

I was more interested in hearing Estelle's explanation and the discussions was not getting redundant for me probably because I missed your explanation :-) Taxation is relevant to any discussion about capitalism because under capitalism a government is typically supported through voluntary financing methods, not through taxation...

Another minor misunderstanding. That was for Estelle.

What is their share? All? Because they are close to that now.
