I joined because I need a man. A woman can't have a complete family with only a child, there needs to be a man in the picture too.

i joined because i wanted to answer the same
questions a minimum of 15 times each...laugh

although worded slightly different, i'm still gonna mark
this one as number 12 in the "why are you here" category...

I think most men on here are after casual relationships and a lot lie about their cicumstances.

I'm here because i wanted something new to happen in my life! I wanted to meet new friends or true love perhaps? It's like doing things in a different and nice way...

Originally I started coming here because I'm a man of my word. A friend actually came up with my screen name and "basic" profile (though that tome that is my about me section is all me).

After a while, I kind of got into messaging people, and I even had the pleasure of meeting a couple of people from here. But as the years have dragged on my expectations have changed. Now, well, I like looking at the pictures people post (both in the profiles and the forums), chatting if the opportunity arises, and "poking the bear" in the forums. If I can make someone laugh or smile, well all the better still.

However, being a man of my word, I have to stay here until I meet someone - which should be a lesson to all of you to be careful what you promise.

I am here for the forums, especially the poetry forum. Sure there is a lot of repetitive threads, but there are also some great ones too.

There was a time when I loved Mingle.
I'll always be grateful to Mingle even if I didn't meet the love of my life here.
Lately I've found there is too much hate here, so I tend to shy away.
Sometime I log on and read some of the posts and straight away I log off again.
I guess thats human nature.

I am in a relationship so I am just here for the friendship and forums. I see intelligent posts by people like Funky Franky and it makes me look forward to my next visit. I see hateful stuff and it reminds me that it exists in the world and all good men have to do to allow evil to succeed is to do nothing. (paraphrased)

Thank you Sir.
You are correct, if the good people don't make a noise then the evil will win.
I'll be on here more often from this day forward.

I think it's better to join the forum rather than waiting for someone to send you a message... At least you know you are talking to a person with true intentions...

I joined for the conversations, some laughs and debates. And if something else should happen then fine..it not fine too.

But I have to say,(in my opinion) the constant man bashing has lead to many men leaving this site and many men getting disenchanted with it.

It just seems counterproductive for a dating site when there is constant finger pointing between the sexes. And many threads seem to be designed with that intention in mind.

^ That works both ways. Some write disrespectfully here about the women. Both men and women need to respect one another.

Yes this is what I sorta meant in my previous comment on this post.
I've never hidden the fact that I'm a lesbian, but some of the men on here are beautiful, gorgeous, handsome, touching, sincere, humble, caring, honest, sweet, and above all human.
To most of the men I've known on Mingle and in life in general, I love you all.

I used to feel like that before I had experience with men. Believe me they quickly lose trust and respect in a romantic relationship. I know it's hard to believe it, but open your mind and look at the world and all the suffering caused by so many men.

I didn't join Mingle as a dating site, but as an opportunity to meet people. If something more came of it... Well, that would be great. If not, that's OK too. I will have met a few people, maybe learned a few things and broadened my experiences. Win, win!

I've never liked the results I've gotten when i was searching for a relationship. It never worked. I've always found better relationships, romantic or otherwise, by simply being open to meeting new people. No agenda, no plan.

This is very true for me also. Well said, and I bet your still not eating dinner alone..lol

[ earlier quote:

And here lies the problem:
You don't want a man.. you need one.. like you need a car.. do fulfill a service.
