Yellow Rose will put you all on the God Bless list for sure. Actually are all the time as a long standing Mingler. If your family would like matched with a family mentor the ALS Society does and excellent job of that and that can really reduce fear and save energy. If you want autonomy I know that there are people in several stages of ALS on DateHookUP.com and hundreds of other disabilities subgroup Singles with Disabilities that are very kind and supportive. (I know it sounds like a terrible name for a site but there are some very decent people.) Earlier post that the Trache is going to help a lot most likely is accurate. Seems scary but the patient often gets great relief. Will keep all positive thoughts for you and yours.
