The murder of the 9 church goers who were old men and woman was a terrorist attack commited under the same premise as when it was widespread and common not long ago.

The flag is but a symbol of those crimes and were committed while that flag flew in the hands of American terrorism.
How do you explain my flag hanging in MY bedroom? The only crime I've ever comitted is speeding. If your assertions were in fact correct then let's arrest everyone who flies the skull and crossbones of piracy. You're welcome to your opinion yes. And I'm within my rights to provide a correct counterpoint. Still waiting on your answer about persons of color defacing the Union battle flag.

Black Americans born and raised in the southern USA are genuine southerners, and yet, they have no pride in a culture that enslaved their ancestors and racially discriminated against their elders. Their heritage is a shameful element of U.S. history.

Confederate-Americans insist that Confederate soldiers be honored because the latter fought against Union soldiers who invaded the South. The ancestors of black southerners actually welcomed those same Union soldiers, because those Union soldiers invaded the South in order to free the slaves.

i call B.S.
north had slaves as well
as many places all over the world

wake up they are just trying to start a war so they can come in place it under martial law and cause all kinds of hell and take away what few rights we have left

Balderdash. False. Incorrect.

Perhaps you are confused, because four of the Southern Slave states failed to secede and join the Confederacy.

The reason for the secession was that the Southern states wanted to keep and expand slavery, and they knew that they would no longer be able to do so after Lincoln won election with no Southern votes.

I suggest you stop basing your unsupported opinions on falsehoods.

Despite the ignorance being propagated by the u.s. public school system...

There were many black southerners, who voluntarily chose, to fight on the side of the Confederates.

Blaming the south...
If people take a good hard look at factual history, they might discover, that many northern cities, such as NYC, we're built on the backs of African slaves.

Emancipation, was an afterthought of the Whig party, (Lincoln's party) to justify it's war of economics against the south.

The south has longer growing seasons for agriculture. Southern shipping ports rarely ever had to close during winter months.

The north was in economic throws, high unemployment, etc... The south was a thriving economy.

Partly true, partly false. The false things:

* that the war was about economics. That's a complete lie. It was about slavery, because the Confederacy DECLARED that it was about slavery. The official Union statement, was that it was about preventing the secession.

* that the South was a thriving economy, and the North was jealous of it.

The South had big problems. That's part of why they lost the war so quickly.

That flag has peacefully fliwn in my room for decades, even when I dated women of color. I had family die in both Union and Confederate regiments. They fought and died for what they believed in. Still dodging my question about the defacing of the Union battle flag? I'm waiting.

hummm interesting,,,,so thay raise the gay power flag in its place? Iam offanded by that,,,you dont think theres gays that hate rednick country ppl like myself,,trust me there are some that do,then theres the black man that thinks cuz iam white iam a racist, deal with that all the time,,theres black month,if we had white ppl month many blacks would
call us racist, its all getting old..,

1. did they raise the gay power flag?
2. Have gays officially organized and fought a war against anyone?
3. Are you sure black men think you are racist JUST because you are white?

4. theres already white months,,, they never had to be called 'white' in a country founded by white men for white people, in this country white is the 'standard',,, it would be like putting 'human' on the month,, we can ASSUME its white folks,,,and for that reason those who arent WHITE May need extra help in finding what non whites did,, by placing one month (The shortest one I may add) with their name.

Not sure what you are asking there, bigpapared.

Using symbols to protest things has been even more American than Apple Pie, since the country was conceived of.

You and I may not agree with the people who are protesting, but as Americans, it is our duty to defend their right to protest this way, for the sake of our own freedom.

If you are asking if anything has been done in the name of the United States, which deserves to be protested intensely, even bitterly, then the answer is yes of course. Evil people have always manipulated patriots of any nation, to get them to assist them in committing crimes of all sorts. Everything from theft, to mass murder.

Now to me, my American flag represents the ongoing battle against those kinds of people, to put an end to such crimes. But I completely understand that those who have suffered abuse under the guise of this nation's need to pursue it's best self interest, might well view that same symbol with dismay and even hatred.

Ah I love watching people doing linguistic gymnastics to ONLY justify the speech and the symbols THEY like. Unenlightened self interest is not that intellectually impressive.

Free speech doesn't begin and end with "Have a nice day, comrade.". It actually includes opinions, thoughts, and symbols from people who disagree with you, or *gasp* DON'T EVEN LIKE YOU!

I know there has been this movement afoot since the 60's to raise people in a mindset of total acceptance of all ideas, cultures, and colours. Guess what? You can't FORCE people to like each other. Regardless of colour, some people are jerks. Some are violent. Some are just annoying. They don't want to go to your church, listen to your music, eat your food, or patronize your business. Forcing people to hold hands and sing "It's a Small World After All" is going to blow up in your face.

It was posted earlier that people use symbols to protest, and we should be aware of that. Guess what? This flag was a symbol of protest as well. It stood for ideas that people WILLINGLY SACRIFICED THEIR LIVES FOR. Now YOU don't have to agree with their position, but based on your own logic though, you DO have to respect it.You teach tolerance and respect right? You want people to respect YOU right? Respect YOUR ideas, right? Why do YOU have such a difficult time practicing what you preach?

It seems that those who don't like this flag believe they have an unimpeachable moral position, and that the rest of us have no choice but to admit defeat, and roll over and accept THEIR terms of social and moral deportment.

Hmmmmm. Kinda sounds like why the Civil War was fought originally. One side, claiming moral superiority, demands the other side acquiesce or fight to the death to defend itself. I'm simply suggesting at this point that continually poking the dog may lead Bubba and Scooter to pick up those guns again. They'll get grandpappy to tell them how he was in the Klan, and what they should have done the last time.

Black America may not like the way this turns out for them if they insist on going down this path of historical 'cleansing'. That's not a threat, it's simply a prediction.

The dog has never needed poking to resort to violence. Your prediction is not a prediction at all, it is actually a long held desire.
In fact, way before this recent distraction of the confederate battle flag started, that dog that is a little terrorist dylan roof had already decided to inspire others to move towards race war.

No one has historically"cleansed" more than whites.
They need nothing to move towards their desires.

He needed no historical cleansing to inspire him anymore than the kkk who flew that flag while murdering and commiting ethnic cleansing needed it.

There is no "Union Battle Flag," as you refer to it.

The Nations Flag is not a "battle flag."

So asking about it with the wrong name, and thus implying things that aren't factual to begin with, isn't likely to elicit a useful response no matter what.

I disapprove of manipulative game playing renaming tricks, myself. There's no point in trying to discuss anything under such circumstances. That's why I always like to start by redefining the terms accurately first.

Ok. Why aren't we hearing you complaining about people of color defacing the UNION flag in 2015? You want the Confederate flag gone then why don't you support deporting those idiots to Iraq? Oh wait. Liberals don't have room in their agendas for that.

Not with people who have views about life that are at best ignorant and worst blatantly racist.
