A woman in SC is protesting a witch her neighbor hung in his front yard as a Halloween decoration.

She claims it is a hate crime against her religion.huh

i practice magick and that does seem a little silly, especially considering that most practicers of the art r very live and let live, besides if she were really mad and seriously into magick she could just curse the person with the hanged witch, really i would not expect that level of oversensativity from anyone into magick
Its not becoming of her religion
one would expect that kind of behaviour out of a myriad of other less tolerant religions
it doesnt make sense that she would take offense at that

If I start worshipping pumpkins can i say jackolanterns r a hate crime?

Gosh everyone wants to sue for stupid crap these days. It seems like it got worse after the "Hey I spilled hot coffee in my lap so I'm going to sue the establishment for not marking their cups with 'Caution: Hot." Yes, that was the downfall.

Insanity is contagious; have a crazy neighbor for a while and see if it doesn't rub off.

if the woman is gonna picket his house and does it right on his lawn, then by us law, he has the right to remove her from his property using any force neccessary, and yes, that means that he can shoot her.

Like that one story where a bus driver was offended by a Halloween decoration of a zombie hanging from a tree on someone's front lawn.
The zombie, is neither black nor white, but puke green!huh

the problem is,it's too easy to sue someone in the U.S.if i'm not mistaken,in Europe if you sue someone and you lose the case, you have to pay for their lawyer.they need that here!

damn. this is the kind of thing that reminds me of how badly we need a nusiance lawsuit law. Mabe there could be three possible judgments in any lawsuit: GUILTY, INNOCENT OR FRIVOLUS. in case of the latter the plaintiff would pay, mabe the amount of the suit or at least for the defendants time and trouble. i think this would put an end to this nonsense and help clear out the courtrooms in one move.

I agree with Rambill about the frivilous lawsuits. You sue for a stupid reason, you lose, you should have to pay not only your legal fees, but the legal fees of the person you dragged into court. I'd LOVE to see that--it means our unemployment lines would be filled with lawyers!laugh

Of course, at the rate it's going now, how long before a JSH member sues another member because they have a pic up that's "offensive" to them?laugh
