Is it just me or does it get on other peoples nerves too.

You go on holiday to relax and enjoy yourself, yet, I personally, feel like scrooge, or a tight wad if I don't bring people a nice present back, which means you spend countless hours of your holiday moping around shops when you should be on the beach or in some ponsy restaurant, or better still, the bar ohwell

Honestly the only ones I get anything for is my grandkids and normally it is a t-shirt... Get them all at one time it is over and the rest of the time if I buy anything it is for me~~bigsmile

people and their expectations! When I vacation, I like to browse the shops, go on tours, etc.., giving me the opportunity to bring back trinkets, mostly for myself...maybe gifts for xmas...always I buy myself a fridge magnet from where I've visited... Gifts for others would be something from the area, which I am probably buying as well..(coffee/vanilla/cigars/chocolates/rum for example).. Often the friend has already given me money to buy it.
now I wish I was on vacation, at the beach bar..

Guess I'm a selfish jerk, then.

The only thing I ever bring back from a vacation, is a big smile. Until I get the bills, of course.

I guess it depends on where I go. T-shirts and key chains are good souvenirs. But if I just go to Vegas, nobody expects anything cuz I usually come back broke.
happy

If the folks back home are expecting a "gift" it is no longer a gift. It is different if there are small children awaiting the arrival because it shows they were on the brain ... That is if they are children of significance to you. Besides that, do what you want! Do not spend your vacation/holiday shopping for others unless that is what you want to do.
