They are still out there I see it all the time.. Myself I normally don't think anything about it and tend to grab the door right off the bat.. You do that when you normally go out by yourself...

But the dates I have had they have always tried to grab the door..

I have friends that will literally put me in my place when I grab for the door.. I laugh at them let them and tell them thank you...

It is funny some say it is a old school thing... I still see it with the younger generation it is all how they were taught growing up..

Heck when leaving work at the end of the day... I very seldom open the door to leave for one of the guys will grab it first....

We may work in a Machine Shop and you hear all the shop talk and will admit I'm right in there with them... But when it comes down to it they are still gentlemen at the end of the day...happy

At my place if they open ten doors you better get out of they. They will leave boot prints on your back side. Lol.

What happened to women who could actually cook a homemade lasagna? This world has gone to hell in a hand basket. sad laugh

I ain't gon' be cooking all day, I ain't your mama
I ain't gon' do your laundry, I ain't your mama
I ain't your mama, boy, I ain't your mama
When you're gon' get your act together?
I ain't your mama
No, I ain't your mama
No, I ain't your mama, no

fanfriggintastic I know what I want on my tomestone drinker bigsmile

Seriously? That's rather bitter, assuming all men are w@nkers.
I"m hoping my tombstone will say something like
"She's the light of my life,
Filled my heart with joy
each and every day
I love you"

Or something along those lines. Provided I get buried. No tombstone when cremated, right. Hmm... I want me tombstone when the time has come!

Dang... must be some depressing vibe in the air if we're happily talking tombstones now laugh laugh

And to the deluded members who responded to this thread by suggesting that it's something that is taught early at home by the parents, well I got news for you.
Children spend the better of their time at school and will pick up good or bad manners at school.
Parents nowadays are little more than glorified babysitters, and that's just when the TV is off. ( Forget about the 'glorified' bit for the dad, he's just a 'Yes-Man', if he knows what's good for him ).
I learned all my good manners at school and at the orphanage where I was raised from 2mo old to 8yrs old. It was a Catholic School that did me the most good toward my manners and respect for others, even down to table manners and bathroom musts.
As I previously stated, I used to be very well mannered and polite until Second-Wave Feminists ruined gender relations by calling the castration of ALL men. I chose Vasectomy because I deemed that 3 wonderful children was largely enough but, unlike many, I DO think about my fellow Men, amongst which, many still aspire to having a family of their own... With how stacked the deck is against men, those Fellow Men can now forget about the 'own' in the previous sentence.
In conclusion, since I didn't see or hear any support for Men who woke up one day faced with the Gender War ( a war women started in their delusional attack of a Patriarchy ) and a rigged system, I've chosen to forget my good manners towards women who seem to be under the age of 70.
As I said before, you can't crap on someone without expecting a blowback.

Nowadays I'm very polite to old men and women. I help them any way I can and am the first one to give them my seat on a bus, tram or subway. All the rest can put their muscles and balance where their mouth is.

They all got snapped up by some strange woman they accidently opened a door for, she then became their wives and she now gives them evil looks for opening doors for other strange women.

Interesting,
On the one hand, I always hold the door open for a Lady,
But if I am on the Bus or Train after a hard days work, there is no way I am giving up my seat, apart from that,I hold the door open for both men and women if it makes life easier, and I have had both Genders do the same for me, it's just being polite.

I open doors for anyone, doesn't make you anything special, just means you had good parents who taught you manners.

I do it to the elderly Men and Women always....I'll
even help carry their luggage or give them a lift.
Atimes I might do it if a young lady catches my fancy....
But going forward,I will put in more effort toward it who knows I might just land my dream woman through this .....lol
I think its good to be nice.
