Topic: Why Democrats will win big in 08....

Dragoness, I agree.

I've been in the service
and care deeply about
this country and what
happens to it.

I don't fault Bush Jr.
for doing something
to stop terrorism
in this country
(other than invading
Iraq).

But it doesn't go far
enough.

There are ways to prevent
terrorism without encroaching
on the freedoms we all enjoy.

Such as identifying who is
in this country and why.

Doing background checks
on foreigners entering
this country, including
counterfeit-proof visas
and other IDs.

That may have prevented
someone like Zacharias
Moussawi or the 9/11
terrorists from even
getting into this country.

Getting tough on people
such as the Flying Imams.

For those of you who don't
know who the Flying Imams
were, here is a good link:

http://pajamasmedia.com/2006/12/the_faking_imams_pajamas_media.php

People such as these should be
detained longer so we can find
out their true motives.

And we should have better
alliances with moderate
Muslims who don't share
the extremist views of
organizations such as
Al Quaeda.

Checking ships with
geiger counters,
bomb detectors
and other measuring
devices, and putting
an RFID chip on
every crate that
has been inspected.

There are probably
other measures that
can be done.

I don't know all
of the technology
that would be
involved, but
I think it should
be used if it exists.

Illegal immigration has been an issue in this country for many more years than just recently. People looked the other way for the last 50 years and allowed them to form lives here and a bases for others to come. We are at fault for this. We as Americans must find a humane way to resolve this problem that has grown through our own ignorance of the issue.

We are at fault? Law makers and enforcers ar at fault for not enforcing OUR LAWS, and we CITIZENS are at fault for not demanding they DO!

The racists in our country holler that the great American way of life will be gone if we accept them as citizens, this is not true. The racists would like nothing better than inhumane roundups and mass deportation. This is not a humane or American way of doing things and should not be entertained.

Wanting every last one of these LAW BREAKERS to leave and apply to come back LEGALLY does NOT make me a racist and I am damn tired of the left saying this. It is but a tool used to shut us up.

I agree something needs to be done, but not because my pockets are affected. I want the slave labor to stop and I would like for these people to have the rights Americans have. I would like our country to have more control over who is here and if they are a terrorist or not. As things are we have no clue of any of this.

It has to be done for our national security, our national sovereignty, our CULTURE and way of life. And if you (meaning ay American) want to give ½ of your paycheck or more to pay the way for others, fine. That’s what charity is for. But keep your hands out of MY pockets! I will make my own charitable choices thank you. Furthermore, the HUMANE thing to do is to have immigrants be LEGAL so they can get out of POVERTY, which they can NEVER do as illegals

Last 6+ years no attacks. That really bugs the left. I think you want America to be attacked just so you can adjudge "it's Bush's fault". But it's not going to happen.

OK, let's see here. According to this "attempt at logiclaugh " here, the fact that there've been no attacks is thanks to Bush, and credit should go to him. Yet, when there's an attack on his watch, someone else's to blame?

Geez, talk about avoiding personal responsibility, but that's straight out of the neocon playbook.

All thos people appointed as overseers of all the failing agencies state and federal...did not act as overseers at all. More like an honorary chairman appointment. Affected every aspect of government we have. Time to make them accountable! Haliburton thought that was a little fun for a while!

problem is, very few people will be held accountable. they all have too much money for that.

Just for the record.....

neoconservative

Main Entry: neo·con·ser·va·tive

Function: noun
Date: 1952
1 : a former liberal espousing political conservatism

You say neocon like it is a bad thing, but it's not. Let me define... An approach to politics or theology that represents a return to a traditional point of view (in contrast to more liberal or radical schools of thought of the 1960s). So you call me a neocon and I say thank you.

Okay, I do not have to type in bold to feel I am right, cause I know I am.

Yes we are at fault, we are responsible for the problem we have today as we are the citizens and we govern our country, makes us at fault just like you said.

Second, if you feel you are a racist, then take offense to what I said, cause I did not refer to you as a racist. I made a blanket statement of the racists favorite rants about this issue. If the shoe fits, I did not know it.

Third, you have the right to worry about your pockets, it is the American way, but I do not consider your pockets more important than the humane thing to do in this situation. I will continue to fight for the humane thing and you continue to fight for your pockets, I have no problem with that. We need to secure our border and ports, as was also pointed out. We then need to make the illegals who pass our tests for immigrants legal and deport those who do not. Then never forget this is what happens when we ignore illegals the next time this comes up.

Oh and where the hell is bin laden????? LOLdevil bigsmile

mnhiker's photo

I made a predication
that Bin Laden would
die of old age in
the future because
we still haven't
captured him.

As for neoconservative,
I consider Karl Rove,
Paul Wolfowitz, Bill Kristol,
certain other political
operatives from the
Reagan and Bush Jr.
Administration as
being neoconservative.

I think it's interesting
that the definition from
1952 of a neoconservative
is 'a former liberal espousing
political conservatism',
because the Bush Jr. Administration
has spent the people's money
in a very liberal way.

The Bush Jr. Administration took
a budget surplus and turned it
into a huge deficit.

Which is contrary to
the philosophy of
fiscal conservatism.

Little wonder that
the excess spending
of the Bush Jr. Administration
alarms fiscal conservatives,
who, in my estimation at least,
are the true conservatives.

They also fooled those
who followed the religious
right, who thought they
would stick up for their
values.

In this they failed,
miserably, with the
Justice Dept. scandals,
Tom Delay and Ralph Reed,
the Mark Foley scandal
and others.

i almost took offense to the racist thing as well. i've been called a racist when i stated my beliefs on taxes and stuff. never did i bring their race into it, just economics.

too often do the supporters of immediate integration call racism

lost a dear friend because she was a moron about it, her doing not mine

Dragoness's photo

toast, I bring it up because people fail to see them in our politics and stuff but they are there, supporting issues that look on the outside to be other than racist but their motives are racist. I have been exposed to these people and I cannot forget them. They are very subtle and frightening in their ability to cloak their agenda.

Our nation was based from racists, people forget this, we have alot of it still ingrained in our country today. More than people realize. On some issues I have to point it out to people so they see otherwise we would inadvertently assist in the perpetuation of the crimes these people want to continue to commit in our country.

That was done for the purpose of sorting your text from mine since we can’t use color and my counterpoint was in between your paragraphs. It was not done to "Prove I am right". Ad for the record, the CAPS were for emphasis since you can not hear the inflection in my TEXT.

i see racism all the time. it's everywhere. i hear it anytime i'm around someone.

granted, we're all a little racist. it's futile to deny it. human nature is to judge and break things down into understandable segments. what is also human is the journey to better ourselves.

a long time ago i would have fought someone for being racist around me, time has beat me down. too much racism, not enough ice packs out there.

I will never lay down on the issue, it is so very harmful to the fabric of our country. I am sorry you feel it is not worth the effort but I do.

I do understand, but if each person took on a little at time we could eliminate it. It needs to be brought to light and called for the ugliness that it is. People continue to teach their children who then teach their children, ect......... It is an ugly cycle of hatred. People should have enough to do in their own lives then perpetrate hatred on others unlike them.
