Topic: Do I Worry Or not?

I recently started emailing a guy who says he lives in Atlanta Georgia. He says he is on business in Nigeria and that it is taking him longer to get paid than he expected. he also says he is not interested in my physical size, the attraction is tehre for him. I am trying to be careful and I did a name check on him through the national white pages (online through MSN). No name match could be found no matter what I typed in, anywhere. Plus, I did a google search and someone with his exact last name (which is spelled different than most with a similar name) popped up on a different site, and the guy was from Nigeria. He keeps pushing for pictures of me even though I posted already and he seems to be beating around the bush about the money issue. He is beginning to worry me, yet I do not want to jump to conclusions. Should I go to the other site and try to feel the guy out to see if it is the same one?

Sweetie you need to run and run fast..normally when they say they in Nigeria on BUSINESS..in reality..they live there and looking for YOU to foot the bill so they can get out..RUN!..I've gotten so much mail from people "working" in Nigeria it's ridiculous..I'm pretty sure if he was really from the states he wouldn't have to go ALL the way there to find work..I mean theres a huge unemployment rate here..theres a job here somewhere for him.laugh

My cousin is married to a Nigerian as well. Just because they are Nigerians does not make them scammers. HOWEVER, you shouldn't send money no matter who her. The fact that he is in Nigeria and you can't check up on anything about him, should send up huge flags. Please realize it's a scam. You are worth so much more than that, you don't need him at all.

Thanks for the replies, and no, he will not ever get money from me. I guess I am seen as a softie or desperate. He's wrong on both, which is why I run checks alot! I can and will wait for the right one to come along.

That's outstanding happy Unfortunatly it's very good and nice people of the world that get preyed on by scammers. Don't let yourself be a victim.
And the right one will come... lol there's lots of us still waiting.

This scam has been going on for years; they even did a special on MS-NBC about these Nigerian scammers.

I've noticed that a few of these scammers seem to have realized that Nigeria itself has become a red flag, and have shifted their operations to the Ivory Coast.
