I'm in shock
All this time I've been speaking to Motown downtown who is sat in his underwear ( is it a leopard skin print thong) in Liberia or Lagos, and I never knew:fearful::smile:

I'm struggling to remember, it's been awhile
I bought and began, but didn't get far with Bonfire of the Vanities , Tom Wolfe, I think

I too read, all 3 musketeer books, but in a strange order, the last one first ( which I think I enjoyed the most, I actually cried at 1 part, I won't spoil it, and say why, but laugh all you like)
Then the first 1 ( the only 1 I'd read before, but I was a kid
Then the second 1 last ( which was the worst 1, I thought)
Plus I think most of the count of Monte Cristo, never finished it though for some reason I think
But the last book I read, that I absolutely loved, and have read it at least 3 or 4 times
Is , Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, by, er, hang on, it's on the tip of my tongue, you, know, that guy, what's his name??
Hunter S Thompson

You make an excellent point, regarding, defining, the occult.
I could take a stab at it.
But I won't, for 2 reasons
Firstly, for the reason you mentioned, regarding peoples pre conceptions
And secondly, because , I did not invent the word
So what it means to people,as you sort of point out, maybe, just as telling as anything else. And I was sort of, just hoping to set the ball rolling, and was interested to see any discussion around it

Strange nobody asks for a definition of religion:no_mouth::smile:

Or is religion the occult?
Is there a difference in those 2 statements?
Is either correct?
Can the 2, ever coexist?
Or is it a case of either / or ?
Why does religion, claim to not like the occult and demonizes it?
Is this discussion even possible?
Is it the nature of the secrecy of the occult in society, that makes this discussion impossible or at least, more difficult than it perhaps need be?
It's a dichotomy I know, or is it?
Please discuss, any or all of the above

Have you heard of reverse graffiti?
It's where you get a stencil, and a pressure washer
You put the stencil on a paving slab, and pressure wash it
Thus leaving an image, where the clean is separated from the muck
Cleansing made me think if it
Not another argument between capitalists and socialists , that's all we need

You ever come across the theory that Hitler was a Rothschild?
I believe his father remains unknown
But around the time of his conception his mother was a maid for the Rothschild's and left when she fell pregnant
He did get to live out the rest of his life peacefully
And the third Reich said if their war failed they would achieve their aims by economics.

Better to regret something you have done
Than something you haven't

A faint heart, never won a fair Lady

Hell yes, it's scary as hell, and horrible if it goes wrong
But it's also the best feeling in the world, if it goes right

Hmm, nuclear weapons perhaps?
I mean they're clearly supported by the U.S.
They've got them
I don't think the Israelis have declared having them, but neither have they declared not having them , but I think many assume they do
No weapons inspectors for them, hey
So, does anybody else in that region have them?
Not that I know of, but I could be wrong
But hey, I think they might have oil
And the U.S. loves it's petrol dollar and and going to war with anybody that doesn't want to use it

I guess it is and it isn't
Meaning I guess it's not exclusively an intimate encounter site, but I suppose for some, it could fulfil that function
I haven't looked at your profile, and this is just my opinion, but for some reason I think you look deppresed on that photo that is your profile picture, which I doubt is helpful

So if it was my free will to punch you in the face, would it have an impact on you or your nose?
I believe so
And while that link does concern Buddhism
Indra is also an important god to Hindus
Your welcome to research me if you choose
Shiπ you wouldn't be the first to claim I'm deluded by a long chalk
Personally, I have just met you, and while I find you both intelligent and amusing to some degree, I also find you nasty and troll like. So until I reach a different conclusion, I will adhere to the sage like wisdom, that is, don't feed the troll.
Have fun with your cricket bat
I'm off to play football

The argument that what happens to 1 impacts us all, by no means cancels out free will
If you think you are here to research delusions, then I think perhaps you are deluding yourself, and trying to delude others.
And I myself, do not have a religion
I was simply trying to steer the thread down another avenue, as I had reached the conclusion that is had descended into fruitless trolling

I'm unsure as to how it relates to free will
I do believe it points to the interconnectedness of all things
Such as vibrations and so on

If you think all religions and their basis are delusions
Why are you here?
Okay, that's your belief, and your entitled to it
But aren't you taken a cricket bat to a football match, and spending your time shouting at everybody for not playing cricket?
Isn't that a tad bizarre?
Perhaps you'd have more fun at a cricket match, and allow those that want to play football, to do so

Having only read the past 2 posts, I am not up to speed, and I'll be honest, I've no desire to read through 11 pages of this thread
I was hoping to interject, and perhaps the thread may go in a slightly different direction to the 1 I suspect it is on
Tibetan Mastifs
Tibet
Secluded for quite awhile, I believe
My Grandma had a lhasa apso
Anyway, my sort of point is
Why do these types of threads always have to deal with only Jewish and Christian religion?
Is it a, to quote Gill Scott Heron, probably completely out of context, a sort of
' Whitey on the moon' issue?

So I tried to find some meaningful quote from a religious text other than the usual ones, but, I couldn't, admittedly at times I have little patience
I did however stumble upon this
