I am a huge Sci-fi fan but Battlefield Earth was the type of film that made me want to stick knitting needles in my eyes and while sitting transfixed to the screen willing a moment movie redemption to happen somewhere. I do actually like many of the films Travolta has been in like Phenomenon, Face-off and Pulp Fiction especially, but this one stunk so much I couldn't get the stench off me for weeks. I felt like I was sitting through a crash course in Scientology without the comfort of Cameron Diaz to make it remotely bearable. The only thing missing from that film was Tom Cruise. It was almost two hours of my life I will never be able to buy back. I am sure someone somewhere liked it though.

Another film was Mission Impossible for destroying one of my favourite TV series by making the original good guys bad and the only character not in the original the good guy. Afterwards I felt violated! :(

This book has been five years in the making and will have a profile and picture of each robot and other interesting information and trivia.
I think it would be a valuable reference tool for any sci-fi fans, especially those robot lovers. It is kind of the book I wish was around when I was a kid.I want to pack it with as much as possible with funs stuff like...

I agree with Gort, C3PO, R2, Twiki, Maria, Cylons(original series only), Daleks, Robbie the Robot, and Robot from the Lost In Space TV series.

Others I like-

Huey, Dewey, and Louie from Silent Running

The Killbots from Chopping Mall

Max 404 from Android

Crimebuster from Heartbeeps(the movie itself is super cheesy)

Kryten from Red Dwarf

Fembots from Bionic Woman

As a kid I remember liking:

Rover from Wonder Woman

C.H.O.M.P.S the robot dog from C.H.O.M.P.S

Roboz from Riptide

Peepo from Space Academy

Though the robots aren't special, I enjoy the robot-themed flicks- Target Earth(giant robots from space invade Chicago),

Kronos(another giant robot from space movie)

and Saturn 3

Although Saturn 3 wasn't a great movie it did have it's moments and I liked Hector with his "Hurry along please" oh and Farrah Fawcett :).

Kronos: Ravager of Planets is a classic indeed.

Target Earth was one of those films where though it seemed like a big group of robots invading the US they only used one robot in the whole film. That's why WE never see two or more together lol

Well, my favorite cyborgs are the Daleks and my favorite movie robot is Gort.
Yes I love the classic Gort, I wasn't that impressed with the remake version. Daleks would be number 1 on my cyborg list too...

My Top 10 Robots ever would be:

1. Robbie (Forbidden Planet, Movie)
2. B-9 (Lost In Space, TV Series)
3. R2-D2 (Star Wars, Movies)
4. C3-PO (Star Wars, Movies)
5. Maria (Metropolis, Movie)
6. Gort, (The Day The Earth Stood Still, Movie)
7. Tobor (Tobor the Great, Movie)
8. Cylon (Battlestar Galactica, TV Series)
9. Drones; Hewy, Luey Dewy (Silent Running, Movie)
10. Optimus Prime (Transformers, Cartoon TV Series/Movie)
11. K-9 (Doctor Who, TV Series)
12. Rosie (Jetsons, Cartoon TV Series)
13. Bender (Futurama, Cartoon TV Series)
14. Vincent (The Black Hole, Movie)
15. ED-209 (Robocop, Movie)
16. Sonny (I, Robot)
17. Twiki (Buck Rogers In The 25th Century, TV Series)
18. Johnny #5 (Short Circuit, Movie)
19. Marvin (The Hitch Hikers Guide To the Galaxy, TV Series)
20. Wall-E (Wall-E)

I also would mention the ABC warrior robot from Judge Dredd and AMEE from the Red Planet. So many others I could easily make a top 50 or 100.

If anyone is interested in talking about Sc-fi robots from Film and TV I would enjoy that. I used to also answer questions on All Experts about sci-fi robots and films so if anyone wants information on a robot or are trying to identify the name of one or a film they appeared in I might be able to help. I am in the process of writing an A-Z guide of Robots, Androids, Cyborgs, Computers and AI from TV and film. I have over 800 entries so far. Huge project, but I have loved robots since I was a child. my favourite robot is from Lost in Space called B-9.

I think the best chance we have of seeing another Transformers film is with a re-boot at a later stage with a new cast and director.

If I was a rainbow
And you didn’t care
I’d pack up my colours
And just disappear

If I Was

If I was a bird
I’d fly so high
No one could hurt me
Way up in the sky

If I was a breeze
I’d make the trees dance
And whistle a tune
Through every branch
If I was a flower
I’d welcome the bees
And grow in the places
That nobody sees

If I was a valley
That you roamed all about
I’d echo your name
Every time you did shout

If I was a raindrop
And I saw you cry
I’d land on your check
Chase the tear from your eye

If I was a rainbow
And you didn’t care
I’d pack up my colours
And just disappear

Many a munster live within us all.
Some are like a tiny ant,
and others ten feet tall.
This reminds me of many who live in this pain.
Wanting love, yet tasting acid rain.

A very COOL and deeply enriched write man..
Thank you very much :)

Child in a Shell

It’s dark this early in the morning breeze
A young child wanders where he shouldn’t be
Footsteps echo on the pavement street
The shuffling sounds of another’s feet

A familiar face so close to home
Beckons me in and then we’re alone
In the blink of an eye
In the grass laden frost
Threats found in whispers
Innocence lost

So much to hide in the mind of a child
Feelings of guilt are driving him wild
Father has stained the carpet in beer
Cigarette ash I smell everywhere

“Mother” I plead, but alas she can’t hear
The pill bottles empty, she hauntingly stares
“What a gifted young boy”
“A pity” they say
I learned how to hate on that very day

Taken away in such clinical style
Strained to remember my mother’s sweet smile
Dragged by my hair and slapped in the face
Seething inside with contemptuous disgrace

I prayed for mother or father to come
To bring me back home
To reclaim their son

I grew up in violence, sin and rejection
It taught me to fight and despise all affection
Like tainted illusions of trust, hope and love
Spoken by others and worn like a glove

In the mind of a man, in the dark hides a child
In a place that is cold, and really quite vile
The ground is like quicksand that’s holding him fast
Flashes like lightening reflecting his past

No one came to save him then, no ones coming still
Finding ways to keep on going
If even but by pill

The monster’s dark embrace is strong
There is no escape as such
And though the creature may be gone
I feel the monsters touch

((((( )))))

Be still my heart....flowerforyou
Glad you liked it ;)
