Obama is racist. Its a sad thing when people belive only a white man can be racist.

All races have people in them that are racists.

I've seen no evidence that shows that Obama is a one.

Btw, do you think he is racist to his white grandparents that raised him and his white mother?

yea he threw her ubnder the bus. have you read his book? he says things like 'typical white person' and he makes decisions based on race. Rather than considering the content of ones character. For example Sotomyaor. He is a radical socialist.

If they don't believe in hell, what do they believe?
The soul that is sinning it itself will die. Those determined to be evil by God die and cease to exist. Having not shown faith in Jesus Christ ransom sacrifice they are not resurected to eternal life on a paradise earth wich God will make here on earth after Armageddon. 144,000 people will be chosen by god to rule as kings and priests in heaven they call them the "annointed" and the righteous "other sheep" will live forever on a paradise earth. At Armageddon Jesus and his angels will fight with Satan and his demons Jesus wins. From there he will lock Satan up for 1000 years at wich point he will be let go and those that follow him will be destroyed with him never to exist again.

I don't understand this. It's not in the Bible.
Holy cow. Im too lazy to look up all the scriptures they use to "prove" these beliefs. However they are quite convincing. Im sure they would be happy to show you. LOL

No, thanks.laugh

At what age did you quit being JW?
At the age of 22. I was raised a JW. At 18 I did some bad things(alot of vandalism and some violence to others) because of the clergy do not have to leagally turn you into the police they did not. However they did "disfellowship" me. Basically they let you go to there meetings but you cant associate with them until you prove to be repentant. I have never been arreated for the things I did back then. I do carry some guilt for them. They let me back after about 18 months.

That's interesting - how they did "disfellowship" to you. It reminds me somewhat how the Amish excommunicate people.

I'm curious. Are you a Christian now?
Yes I try to be. I do not attend any church. I believe what the bible says. But there are some differnt teachings out there. I cant wrap my head around them all. Some people who say they are christian seem pretty mean. Jesus was'nt that way at all. So I have my doubts.

I know,I was one. Honest truth here no judgement just truth.

They have a major issue with the deity of Jesus. They consider Him to be a created being like everyone else except God. Yet the N.T. tells us differently. Their version of the gospels have subtle changes in the text so that it doesn't conflict with what they believe. The Gospel of John is a major problem for them because it clearly states:

1-In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2-He was with God in the beginning.

3-Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4-In him was life, and that life was the light of men. 5-The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood[a] it.

Also: 14-The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.

They can't comprehend the full nature of God so they try to limit his abilities to suit them.

As far as the blood issue is concerned, God forbade the Israelite's from drinking blood in the O.T. & I think they carried their concern over protecting blood forward from there. It's an unfortunate belief because of the needless deaths that have occurred due to a lack of blood transfusions.

The only "144,000 are going to heaven" is a total misinterpretation of the text. It clearly says in the Book of Revelation, that the 144,000 are going to be virgin male Hebrews. No J-W is a Hebrew.
They think the New Earth will be the desired place to be, when before leaving this world Jesus said He was going back to Heaven to prepare a place for us. Jesus wants us to dwell with Him in His presence, in His Father's house.
The word was a God. Translated from the original greek, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was toward the GOD, and god was the Word. Case sensitive(has meaning in greek) also notice the use of the word "THE". Perhaps other translations are trying to prove the trinity. Please remember I am not a JW. I do however have an interest in truth not religion. Act 15:20 does say to obstain from blood. If they are over concerned in this area perhaps they are erring on the side of caution. They have faith Jehovah will remember and bless them for this. as far as the virgin male Hebrew reference I cannot find that in the Greek,King James, nor the New World translation. I have de-bunked. Unless you can show me. And yes there are JW's in Israel. The Jewish nation rejected Jesus and therefore that was the last straw they are a stubborn and stiffnecked people. That is why Jesus and his apostles preached th gosple to the nations. Christianity was thus born. Finally no man can look upon GOD and yet live. I am not here to preach there doctrine. I just want to tell the truth about it. I am troubled by the fact that some Christians have such a reverence for Jews when they were responsible for Jesus death his blood is on their hands.

No one BUT the J-W's translate the verses from John the way you referenced. Playing around with the subtleties of the text like that leads to eternal consequences of punishment.

Merely having faith means nothing as far as salvation is concerned. Just what do they have faith in? I know that they place their faith in a small "g" god, whereas, I place my faith in a big "G" God. Meaning, if Jesus isn't God, how could He accept the sins of the world & be found to be The perfect sacrifice. Nothing less than Gos could accomplish this. My question to you, if you had the choice wouldn't you want to place your trust in the creator God for the gift of salvation or a created god? The former is the true Redeemer, the latter is a mere imitation that leads many astray.

The 144,000 reference. You have to look in 2 different places in the book of Revelation for the answer. Chap 7 & 14. Here they are:

1-After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth to prevent any wind from blowing on the land or on the sea or on any tree. 2-Then I saw another angel coming up from the east, having the seal of the living God. He called out in a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to harm the land and the sea: 3-"Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we put a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God." 4-Then I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel.
5-From the tribe of Judah 12,000 were sealed,
from the tribe of Reuben 12,000,
from the tribe of Gad 12,000,
6-from the tribe of Asher 12,000,
from the tribe of Naphtali 12,000,
from the tribe of Manasseh 12,000,
7-from the tribe of Simeon 12,000,
from the tribe of Levi 12,000,
from the tribe of Issachar 12,000,
8-from the tribe of Zebulun 12,000,
from the tribe of Joseph 12,000,
from the tribe of Benjamin 12,000.

And Chap 14:

1-Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father's name written on their foreheads. 2-And I heard a sound from heaven like the roar of rushing waters and like a loud peal of thunder. The sound I heard was like that of harpists playing their harps. 3-And they sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders. No one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth. 4-These are those who did not defile themselves with women, for they kept themselves pure. They follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They were purchased from among men and offered as firstfruits to God and the Lamb. 5-No lie was found in their mouths; they are blameless.

Unlike some, I actually don't write something unless I know what I'm talking about. I also double check myself before posting.
I started this topic to merely tell what they believe. I was a JW for most my life. I did not intend on defending their beliefs. I do however still believe what the bible says. Can you explain Revelation chapter 7 vs 9 and 10? As far as John 1:1 I read the literal translation from greek to english showing actual greek text. Im not highly educated just an amature. I do know that the bible says Jesus is Gods son. Jehovah is Gods name. Jesus said you should love Jehovah. Jesus prayed to his father. The bible also speaks of Jesus sitting at the right hand of God. If Jesus is God who resurected him from the dead? If he is God then God was dead for 3 days. As Revelation goes is not some of it literal and other figurative? Thank you for not being condesending.

I have a daughter who is almost 12 and her father hasn't had contact with us since our divorce 10 years ago. Last time she saw her father was when she was 5 months old. His parental rights were taken 10 years ago due to domestic abuse (& I don't agree with being able to not having to provide for your child by abusing another, but the state decided that without my input) Anyways, my sister said she saw his profile on myspace and says I should try and contact him for the sake of my daughter. My ex/her father has never tried to make contact with us. So I need some advice if I should or just leave the past in the past &/or let my daughter initate contact when she is older.
Advice, please
If he wants to see her he will find her. If he does not then he is lacking natural love for her. I saw an ex girl friends Myspace about a year after I last saw her and she had pics of her new baby. I contacted her and flat out asked her if that was my child. She said no. I still wonder because I broke up with her when I found out she was married. I wonder about this alot.

When they come to my house in October, they sure don't like my Halloween decorations.

They also didn't like it when they came over and I was leaving to donate blood. You know that I had to let them know that I was doing that.bigsmile
Well Halloween is according to the encyclpiedia a pagan holiday. And the bible does say that blood is sacred belongs to God and to obstain from it. They do not believe in blood transfusions for these reasons.

As my blood is sacred...

I give it willingly to save the life of a human...

Humans being also sacred to me.
That seems perfectly reasonable to me.

It is taken from the bible and translated... yet another version of scriptures subjective to interpretation and perception.

It has been said that perception is reality. I sense a tendacy to not believe christianity in your statement. Im curious where or what that stems from.

I have several step-brothers and sister that are JW's.
They are good and sincere people.
Like any other guest that comes to my door, I treat them with respect.

And tell them "Thank You, but no thanks."

If they like being treated with respect, tell them not to knock on my door!

Nobody has the right to knock on someone elses door to preach religion. THAT is disrespectful. When someone disrespects me, i have the complete right to be disrespectful back.

The constitution gives them the right as it does for you to not like it. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Or not. No judgement just an observation.

Legally they have the right, morally, they should leave me in peace, and not try to force me to listen to their nonsense.

Not that the constitution has anything to do with it. Especially as i am not American.

Very well then.

Obama is just building a monument to himself. He and all his Left wing cronies are power hungry selling soldiers in a human grocery store. We practice selective annihilation of mayors and goverment officials for example to create a vacum then we fill that vacum as popular war advances peace is closer.

Cash for Clunkers is better than unemployment. It is a jobs stimulas plain and simple. I think its funny how anything Obama does to improve the economy is critisized the by right wing media complex. Obama is only trying to fix what was broken by 8 years of republican neglect. What realy cracks me up is that the republicans at this point should have no credability at all yet some people still take their talking points seriously.

They got a couple of things right, hell is merely the grave, same word is translated hell, grave, and pit in the OT. Paul only used the word once, & that would be in 1 Cor.15.

They do not believe in one Lord. They do not believe that Christ is God manifest in the flesh fulfilling OT Scripture.

They do not believe they are overcomers who are to inherit the heavenly city, even though they quote the number of overcomers as being 144,000. They don't have an answer for having more than 144,000 members either.

The do not believe in taking the context of Scripture into account if it goes against their beliefs. They don't believe what Paul wrote, that with the revelation of the mystery (secret) that God's Word was completed. They believe that God does have more to say but only to them, so although they will quote Paul when it suits them, they don't believe what Paul writes anyways. And so they need to by default also dismiss what the other apostles wrote, seeing as how they upheld Paul's status as an apostle sent from God.

In other words, they contradict both themselves as well as Scripture.
They believe 144,000 will go to heaven and the "other sheep" the rest of them will live forever on a paradise earth. They do believe that GOD's word is complete. Revelation does speak of other scrolls that have yet to be open. I guess that remains to be seen. they belive that all scripture is inspired of GOD and beneficial for teaching, reproving and setting things straight. You mentioned Paul several times, are you Pentacostal? The bible says that Jehovah is God, and Jesus is his son.
