Ok, so I agreed to meet someone for a coffee date and we agreed on a time and I waited around for 30 minutes past the agreed upon time, then I left. What is your limit of waiting for someone to show? I am a real stickler on being punctual I'd rather be 30 minutes early than 1 minute late for anything. I feel that barring a major catastrophe (traffic jam, medical emergency)there shouldn't be any excuse for someone not being on time for a first meeting. What's your opinion on this. This person apologized and said they got a 50 minutes late start and that's why they were late.He didn't have my cell number or home phone number (don't like giving those out UNTIL I know them better.

I'm never deliberately rude to someone when I post, but when I do reply and they don't like the answer, that's when I feel that they are just attention seeking, why ask for advice, then get all upset when you get many different views?

Used to be naive, then trusting but I've moved on to skeptical. And if someone doesn't like what I write in response to their whining,attention-seeking post then tough, go get professional help, don't ask a dating site for advice."Sorry all sold out of pity here, go try somewhere else."

Driving down Third Street yesterday the wind was blowing and it was raining, the leaves have turned color on the trees that line the street, a bright yellow and some were even falling and blowing across the road, makes me glad I live in a state where we actually have seasons.

Which kind of reminds me of the time my ex husband said he wanted me to grow my hair as long as Chyrstal Gayle (remember her?) so I said I would as soon as he got his nose and nipples pierced, that's a compromise right? That shut him up for a while.

Thanks for the input Scarlet but I didn't post that because I was wanting advice. I already how far I am willing to "compromise" I just put that out there to give people something to think about other than "threadstoppers" and the like.

So been reading a book called The Encyclopedia of Dead Rock Stars ( I know, I'm kinda morbid) and the obit on Janis Joplin has a quote by her "Don't compromise yourself-you're all you got" Which got me to thinking (ah oh), when you are dating someone do you make compromises, say they dress a little more conservately than you're used to so you wear a nice shirt and chinos instead of the usual t-shirt and jeans, or they like horror movies and you don't but you find yourself watching them, how far are you willing to "bend"?

Well there's one that I see every so often here in Oregon that people wear....."I Caught Crabs on the Oregon Coast", this one seen on a lady that had gigantic boobs, "Yes They're Real, But The T-Shirts Fake, then they're the one people think is funny to have their children wear "Are You My Daddy?" I kinda like funny t-shirts but most I wouldn't wear out in public.

You might try joining the Chemetekans, they are a group that does all sorts of activites, like bike rides, kayaking, skiing trips, hiking, camping. I'm sure they have winter activities and I think you can even bring your children to some of them. They have a website if you are interested that list all that they do and have planned for the month.

How about the candy that was on a string, like a necklace. Can't remember the name of it though.

Gosh that does sound like a lot of fun, never heard of that group. My knee sometimes bothers me also, used to jog (35 miles + a week) but gave that up a long time ago, hiking is about it for me that and bike-riding. Used to belong to a hiking group in Boulder, CO. Was so much fun, hiking with a group. Thanks for the info.

I'm afraid I'm one of those that has a thing about correct spelling. It amazes me sometimes to see that a person is college educated and they can't spell even simple words.Incorrect grammer I can deal with unless it's really bad, sometimes I look at where a person is from and think okay maybe that's how they "talk" in that part of the U.S.Oh well, must be an age thing I notice older people usually spell much better than the younger crowd makes you wonder what they teach them in schools, if not reading, writing and arithmetic....................
