Depends on the context. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Also, do you mean your own children as well when you say family? For me my kids are not included in the more global concept 'family'. Or are you speaking of family to mean 'man, woman, their children'? In English this is confusing as you use the same word for both. IN A FAMILY THERE IS A MAN,WOMAN, AND CHILDREN....IN TODAY'S WORLD IT CAN MEAN ALMOST ANYTHING TO ANYBODY..... Family can also mean aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, parents, etc. All blood ties. I AM SORRY, I THOUGHT YOU WHERE LOOKING FOR DEFINITIONS..... HOWEVER IN TO DAYS WORLD SEVERAL NUT JOBS CAN GET TOGETHER AND CALL THEMSELVES A FAMILY..... OF COURSE, HOWEVER THAT'S CALLED THE ''EXTENDED FAMILY'',,,I WAS TALKING ABOUT THE ''NUCLEAR FAMILY'' SOMETIMES REFERRED AS THE BASIC SOCIAL UNIT.... Geezzz... why be so difficult? Is depression is a situation or it is a disorder? USUALLY ITS CAUSED BY A PERSON NOT GETTING THERE NEEDS MET.....EVERY PERSON IS BORN WITH A NATURAL CHILD INSIDE HIM....HE IS OPEN VULNERABLE, ALWAYS TRYING NEW STUFF, TRUSTFUL, SPONTANEOUS FEELINGS AND BEHAVIOR, AND BELIEVES IN MAGIC. If it is actually faked - that is from the very beginning and deliberately, then the answer is fairly obvious - for some kind of benefit. That may be for attention, adulation , material things, sex , comfort, companionship, as a pose or boast, for reassurance, to incite jealousy, for advancement in employment or social position WHEN WE FORM INTIMATE RELATIONSHIPS AFTER WE LEAVE THE NEST IS PART OF GROWING UP. THE NUCLEAR FAMILY IS NO LONGER IMPORTANT ANYMORE TO MOST, THEN ADD ALL THE LIFE STYLES TODAY.....CHILDREN ARE BECOMING WOUNDED EMOTIONALLY BY THERE CARETAKERS IN LARGER NUMBERS.....HEALTHY PARENTING FOR THE MOST IS LEARNED FROM OUR CARE TAKERS.....AND KNOWING GAMES PEOPLE PLAY BECOME HARDER AND MORE DESTRUCTIVE WITH TIME......SIMPLE TRUTH IS WE TEACH PEOPLE HOW TO TREAT US.
