We all have favorite songs but most of them finish in less than 5 minutes. Sometime we just wish there was more of that sound.
Oh sure, we can search youtube and find live versions that are longer but there are many songs that last past that magig timestop in original form.

This thread is dedicated to those.
The songs that are by default better than 6 minutes in duration.
So what we are looking for here is songs that are originally longer than 6 minutes in duration. Should be easy....

Something more instrumental that is easy

Nazareth - Sunshine

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FC3AlHYT2Ic

"Sunshine"

Sunshine, every single day
Helps to light my way
And darlin', right before my eyes
It don't come as no surprise
That it's easy
Easy lovin' you

And baby,'til you came along
There was always something wrong
Around me
There was emptiness of course
But it's alright
And it's easy
Easy lovin' you

And sunshine, having you around
You're the light I never found
And darlin',every minute you're away
But it's brighter
And it's easy
Easy lovin' you

Lets all get up and dance and sing This fav...

Sugar, Sugar by the Archies

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JywK_5bT8z0

Sugar, sugar, honey, honey
You are my candy girl
And you got me wanting you
Honey, honey, sugar, sugar
I am your candy girl
And you got me wanting you

I just can't believe the loveliness of loving you
(I just can't believe it's true)
I just can't believe the wonder of this feeling, too
(I just can't believe it's true)

Sugar, sugar, honey, honey
You are my candy girl
And you got me wanting you
Honey, honey, sugar, sugar
I am your candy girl
And you got me wanting you

When I kissed you girl I knew how sweet a kiss could be
(I know how sweet a kiss can be)
Like the summer sunshine pour you sweetness over me
(Pour your sweetness over me)

(Oh, sugar)
Pour your sugar on me, honey
Pour your sugar on me, baby
I'm gonna make your life so sweet, yeah, yeah, yeah

Pour your sugar on me, oh, yeah
Pour your sugar on me, honey
Pour your sugar on me, baby
I'm gonna make your life so sweet, yeah, yeah, yeah
Pour your sugar on me, honey

Sugar, sugar, honey, honey
You are my candy girl
And you got me wanting you
Honey, honey, sugar, sugar
I am your candy girl
And you got me wanting you

You're welcome - I like that song.

LOL, I would never use one of those microphone things without being totally drunk. My years have ruined my voice.

In my youth I did sing with a band at the 'Battle of The Bands' in Jamestown, PA. But you were not there so no use in pineing over lost arts.

Sniff 'N' The Tears is another one with lots of great songs

http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkjxHR87oApKNDDOBfQEXVQ

Most of their stuff is great for romantic night at soft low volumes but there are a few that are great for karaoke.

5&Zero

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVGcocdGhd8

Sniff 'N' The Tears - 5 & Zero Lyrics

The wheel was spinning away my earnings and
the bets had stopped
across the table she smiled to herself
with her eyes dropped - a little
she put her winnings on to five and zero
then she looked my way
this was the moment that I had to angle to
make my play

My heart was thumping as I bought my chips
and then I placed them next to hers
the room was hazy and the tension building
as I looked across at her
as the ball dropped into the slot at zero
she smiled a secret smile
my hand was trembling as I reached for my winnings

then gave her back a pile
and if it's alright
I think I'll run and hide
run and hide

As I followed her into the soft moonlight
I said you brought me luck
she said It's no fun when you're losing or
giving up
So I held her to me and I breathed the fragrance of her
breathtaking perfume
and the croupier said les jeux sont faits
as I saw she'd left the room
and if it's alright
I think I'll run and hide
run and hide

Chorus

Another good one that everyone knows from the radio is
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qlp6lXtqHb0

Driver's Seat

Doing all right
A little jiving on a Saturday night
And come what may
Gonna dance the day away

Jenny was sweet
She always smiled for the people she'd meet
On trouble and strife
She had another way of looking at life

The news is blue (the news is blue)
It has its own way to get to you (ooh)
What can I do? (what can I do?)
I'll never remember my time with you

Pick up your feet
Got to move to the trick of the beat
There is no elite
Just take your place in the driver's seat

Driver's seat, ooh
Driver's seat, yeah

We're doing all right (ooh)
A little jiving on a Saturday night (yeah)
And come what may (ooh)
Gonna dance the day away (yeah)

Driver's seat, ooh
Driver's seat, yeah

Jenny was sweet (ooh)
There is no elite (yeah)
Pick up your feet (ooh)
Pick up, pick up (yeah)
Pick up your feet (ooh)
Gonna dance the day away (yeah)

Driver's seat, ooh
Driver's seat, yeah
Driver's seat, ooh
Driver's seat, yeah

Yeah
Driver's seat

Growing up in North East Pennsylvania I came to appreciate Michael Stanley as a musician.
I still love his work and he is still making records.

Here is a site dedicated to his lyrics but I will also list some of his songs from time to time.

http://staryjo.com/lyrics/songlist.html

I Am You

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=reLqMTaKTgg

--words and music by Michael Stanley

I have seen the skyline burning
And I have watched the deals go down
Lost myself in seasons turning
And I have walked on sacred ground
Lived through nights that never ended
I have had belief suspended
Through and through
But after all is lost and won
After all is said and done
I am you...

I have taken foolish chances
I have watched my leaders lie
Fallen hard for love's advances
And walked away when I should have tried
I have filled my heart with hate
Cast it out 'fore it's too late
What else can you do?
Times like these you must remember
No quarter, no surrender
I am you...

I'm gonna hold on and see how this plays
Brother to brother till the end of my days
And that song you've been singing
Well it pulls me on through
I am you...

I have stopped instead of started
And I have watched my children grow
Stood by graves of friends departed
And found out just how much
I do not know
Followed when I should have led
I have left too much unsaid
Sad but true
And after all is lost and won
After all is said and done
I am you...

I'm gonna hold on, gonna see how this plays
Brother to brother till the end of my days
And that song you've been singing
Well it pulls me on through
'Cause I am you...

I'm gonna hold on, gonna see how this plays
Brother to brother till the end of my days
And that song you've been singing
Well it pulls me on through
I am you...

I am you...

I am you...

I just got about 250 songs by Tom Petty and seriously, I'm impressed. The songs that didn't make the radio are as good if not better than those that do.

Check out Mojo and Echo, Wildflower isn't too bad either

One of my all time favorite albums is Long After Dark but there are many that I never heard till today that are most excellent.

The Live Anthology is just fantastic.

Tom and SassyEuro: Have you ever checked out Mudcrutch? According to Wikipedia, Mudcrutch was formed in 1970, but "was disbanded by the record company in 1975 and did not play together again until recording this album (Mudcrutch) 32 years later. After the initial break-up, band members Tom Petty, Mike Campbell and Benmont Tench went on to form Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers."

I read on the EBow site that somebody (probably Mike Campbell) used an EBow in "Crystal River," so I bought an MP3 of it. Here's the song on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4gXHBxBKew
If you wanna zone out for about 9 minutes, put the headphones on and enjoy. glasses

Mudcrutch? Nope, Never heard of it. Certainly worth a look-see.

Okay found it.
I'm adding it to my speed dial on your recommendation. I'm currently still screening all this new Tom Petty I just got. But It's certainly on the playlist deck.
BTW, I live alone and have a nice stereo, no headphones for me.

Looks like Youtube has one full album and an EP with four tracks.

Why is it a nice looking 50's women always go after younger men?

Understanding the nature of it all.

Imagine back when Ugg and Waa were sitting in the cave around the campfire. Well, Ugg up an croaks leaving Waa all alone. Waa goes loking for a new Ugg and finds one that has more strength, better stamina and brings home better food. But the new Ugg has very little experience with life so Waa takes to him as a teacher. This makes Waa feel young and full of life - it is a good thing.

Older men have had a lifetime of being in control. They were the breadwinners for their families and such experience, while impressive, sends certain messages to other women.

See, why would a woman that has been enfolded into the care of a man but is now free, wish to once agian be stifled by a man's personification?

She has done that role. She sees younger men as a chance to teach experience. She feels important, maybe for the first time in a long time. She has something to offer and most men our age are rooted in life. We are Used to having things the way we like them.

If you think about it from an outside perspective, we are ******** when we age. What free woman wants to be shackled to our whims? Thus, Younger is the way to go.

Our job as older men looking for someone our own age is to be open to new things. Think of it not as a sacrifice of our methods but more as a broadening of our horizons.

See, A woman, no matter the age, need to feel immportant in a relationship. Not necissarily the better half, more of a new journey.
Every person has something new to give. Most women look at us as stuff shirts - Its our job to change that image.

Hello Miss ais69,

I just noticed that I failed to acknowledge your greeting.

To recitfy that, GREETINGS lol

So, Whats your phone number ~ Just kidding

I have your profile up right now. WOW thats a lot of reading.
Hang on while I sift...

Fisrt off let me assure you that your profile tells me one thing just looking at it (Still Reading)

You certainly are really looking for someone special. The fact that you detailed your profile shows me you are serious. I really wish you luck in finding that someone you seek.

[continues reading]

Hello NURAIS, Ais or Aish - Thank you for your name. I find it difficult messaging women by their screen names. Your name makes it easy for people to address you personally.

Home is home but you can never go back home because it changes, we change and that 'Home' feeling will never be the same. I see that your passion is for Britian. So be it.

Fantastic names for your children, I find them unique. I am always listing names for my grandchildren, never thought of the ones you actually chose. I see lots of love for your children and you are blessed.

So you not only have the voice of an angel you are pretty too.

[continues reading]

My American experience with sports is that the whole thing is over-hyped but I see that you appreciate figure skating and gymnastics. I have learned to appreciate ballet. I love the human body. Specifically the woman's body. Those figure skaters and gymnists are certainly in shape. I once held aspirations to be a dancer. That didn't really work out.

Presently I have over 5,000 movies. Mostly speculative fiction but I do love a good docudrama from time to time. I converted my whole collection to electronic and I'm working on my 3rd 4 TB hard drive.
I think I have seen just about every movie in SF that is out there. I am not critical of them unless something actually distracts from the movie experience - I don't care for found footage or hand cam stuff.

I'm a classic rock lover. That being said I also like the Blues, Trance (World Dance), progressive and some celtic stuff but I cant stand opera. Classical is okay but Rap music makes me angry. Some metal is okay, Judas Preist, Metallica and Godsmack are some of my favorites. I have some death metal and metal opera like Nightwish and Theater of Tradedy. I like Unsun. There are many related artist that I have checked out but my collection has none of those. I have 160 GB of mp3s that are mostly oldies, classic rock and country. (No) I am not into country, I have it beacuse people I know like it when they come visit.

Since my divorce I have taken a passion for cooking. I love to cook but I have nobody to cook for. I also bake. Pinterest has many burger recipes that are to die for. I know what curry is but I have yet to try it. Here in the deep south most of what is popular is Cajun. Now that, I can cook. LOL

Thru my life I have had many animals. Grew up in the country on a farm. Yeah, I have milked cows. Cats just love me. I think it is because of my calm nature. They always seem to sleep on me. My favorite dog has to be the Lab. Such loyal and loving dogs. Chickens I really don't care for, dirty nasty animals. My sis still has horses up in Pennsylvania, those are fantastic animals. The camping thing is one of my favorite pasttimes but I do primitive tent camping. Find me a stream or a river and set up camp, I may not want to leave. I also enjoy nature walks. I wish my knowledge of plants were better, But I do know most northern US plants. Its so peaceful and calm in nature, I guess, if you are not being hunted for food.

Sarcasm is a sign of intelligence. Most intelligent people are 'bubbly' its nothing to proclaim as a flaw. I find it all enticing.
Hyper people, energetic and full of life is a virtue. I can't count the notes that were sent home saying 'Tommy talks too much" or 'Tommy is so energetic he is disrupting class" Life is as it is.

I would be honored to be your freind Aish, As it is going for me I don't think I will be leaving this little corner of the web in any time soon.

ALERT!!!
[LOL - understand the disclaimer]

But, I bet you are a fire goddess for the right man!

As for the worst enemy or best friend I think its too soon to make that determination. I'm just another real person on the Mingle2 looking for that impossible dream.

Nah, Not gunna message you unless you message me. I guess that is one of the reasons I don't have any friends yet - I am shy.

[Done Reading]

WoW!
Nice Profile. Y'know, I did try writing a profile like yours once. I was told I put too much information into it so I had a short vacation from Mingle2 and came back and wrote in a simpler easier profile. I figure maybe I can make my personality better known from my posts in the forums.

GREETINGS
